1969 Seattle Pop Festival - 09/13/04 03:19 PM

Check out this lineup:

Pop Fest

I wish I could said that I was there, but...

Gold Creek is now a fitness/tennis club and driving range. Quite an interesting place. It was originally built to be the "Disneyland of the NW".

The dome was VERY modern for it's time and also had shows with a lot of big name bands. The grass field where the driving range is now was supposed to be one of the best magic mushroom picking grounds in the NW.

My mom went to it. I had the poster in my room as a kid. I was 11 and she would not let me go.

I saw Pink Floyd in the Kingdome '87 or '88?--

Even though Roger Waters was AWOL it was the best concert I've ever seen--hands down!

My first "real" concert was Led Zeppelin with then unknown opening band Judas Priest at Candlestick Park in 1976. I went to most of the "Day on The Green" concerts in '77 and '78 at the Oakland Coliseum. There were featured lineups like Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, AC/DC and Blue Oyster Cult all playing together at the "Monsters of Rock" show. Tickets were a whopping $12.50! Them's was the good 'ol days huh...

I sure wish I remembered more about those days too. Strangely, 3 letters keep popping into my head... L,S and I think D! \:D
