Taco Seasoning - 01/31/12 12:30 PM

I have my reservations sharing this one. I figured if I ever got in a bind I could buy a lunch truck and do Ok with this recipe. This one is a must try. You won't be sorry. Wimps may need to adjust the heat though. Myself I add fresh minced garlic and finely chopped jalapenos to the ground beef when browning then this mix at the end.

INGREDIENTS per one pound of ground beef:
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika (I liked smoked)
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon fine ground black pepper

If you make enough to store then use 3 tbl per pound of ground beef

Brown and drain the ground beef.
Add the spice.
Add just enough water to mix the spice in.
simmer until liquid is gone.

Thanks for this. My girlfriend was just talking about making the seasoning and not from a package haha.

Stlhead, this is the best Taco mix recipe I have ever used. I promise not to start a competing food wagon. I am using it again tonight. Thanks for posting it.
