Good Price ? - 05/19/00 12:22 AM

Hey , what kind of Boat would I get (used)for 2000$ ?, I am looking for a 17' to 22' foot jet boat inboard or outboard , just boat with motor, no extras like fish finders, ect. I don't have a ton of money so it would be a max of 2500$ ( with tax ).

Thanks All

Snowchuck:

Do you still believe in Santa Claus???? Cause if you think you're going to get any kind of "jet boat, that size" for that money, then wait and sit on Santa's lap, he'd get a good laugh out of it......
but then........you might try the "tooth fairy"!!!!

I do not find this to be a funny issue at all. There are many of us out there that have to get more for less. I was in the same position this last winter. I only had 500$$ to spend on a drift boat. I was not going to settle for some old wooden piece of fire wood. I knew I had to be creative in my search for a glass or alum. boat. Let me give you a web page that was very useful in my search. www.norwestnickles.com
You can do a search on this page that ties into all the nickle ads and associated newspapers in OR, WA, ID, MT, and N. Cal.
I would check this about once a week. I was late on several Alum. boats that were in my price range. I finally found a 14' Lavro lazy drifter with a heavy duty trailer for 500$$ exactly. I had to travel a couple of hours to get it but it was well worth the trip. you can also get on the web pages to every big city newspaper in the northwest(Portland, Tacoma, Seattle , etc) and search their ads.
Take your time and be patient. You will find what your looking for at the price you can afford. It may not be a duckworth magnum, but you will find one.
Call it santa clause or the tooth fairy, I don't care, but he does exist.
Goodluck

Did a little investigating for you on the web-site I mentioned above. There is a 16' Riverjet sled with a 75hp ob jet listed in Sedro Woolley WA.(is there such a place???) for 2100$$
The number is (360)855-0825
I know you wanted a little bigger one, but it might be worth a phone call.

Nothing better to do. Have you made a trip to the rogue yet. Going to the S. Santiam this weekend. Email me and we will "Hook UP" sometime.
