STOLEN! T-8 - 11/11/06 02:15 PM

It seems that someone needed my kicker more than I did. mad Please be on the look out for a 1994 Yamaha T-8 Long shaft electric start and tilt. This motor also had a Prop saver and a EZ steer bracket mounted to it. I live in Puyallup. IF you see one for sale that matches I would appreaciate a call.
Thank all... Jerry Ng 253-255-4676

Well thats too bad Jerry, but at least now they have something to troll those downriggers that they got the last time. Came back and finished the job eh?

You are going to have to leave the dog chained to your boat in the future.

Now you have an legitimate excuse to upgrade!
Sorry for your loss.
See you at the meeting?

Brother Steve.

Totally bogus Jerry!
Time to find a couple of rottweilers for your boat storage area eh? Thievery is such a nasty disease. I wish we could find a cure.

Steve that was my upgrade...It was a 2004! Dave there is a cure, its called "lead poisoning". If only I would have heard them! They pryed off the Yamaha lock on the toggle bolt and cut one of those braided steel cable locks. They also cut the Battery cables. What can you do?

Re: STOLEN! T-8 - 11/11/06 11:10 PM

man to go through all that and not be heard.

my friends dad had someone steal his kicker off his boat last year. with us in the back yard. boat parker on the parking strip. we had just put it on when to guys came walking by and talked to us for a minute about how nice of a motor it was. then they walked off. 30 minutes later we walk up to pull the boat in the yard and the kicker was gone.

its a shame it happened. thats a very exspencive thing to get stolen.

Re: STOLEN! T-8 - 11/12/06 12:47 AM

Guess you had better get some of that barbed wire and some of those booby traps that Dad used to have. Remember those, you would put them under a board and if walked on....kabooom.

Sorry about your loss, that sucks!
Having something stolen, especially off your boat, is the worst.

Re: STOLEN! T-8 - 11/12/06 02:57 AM

Re: STOLEN! T-8 - 11/12/06 12:34 PM

FB, Since I bought it new I have everything, Certificate of Origin, warranty etc. That thing still had a year of warranty! My gut reaction is to sell the boat and just be done with it. Anyone looking for a 26' Olympic with 250 yamaha EFI outboard? Its a great ocean boat, took us out 70 miles last summer for tuna. Of course it is missing a kicker...

Re: STOLEN! T-8 - 11/12/06 07:45 PM

How does a 1994 still have a year warranty?

That must be one heck of a warranty.

Big Daddy that was a 2004, I must have been still fuming then.

That sounds better.

I thought I missed something.

Sorry for your loss. I've had it happen to me and it pissed me off.

Re: STOLEN! T-8 - 11/12/06 11:47 PM

some thoughts after loosing a T-8 and having one really trashed..so I added:

Abus Rockwell 60 Chain with Boron in the steel. Abus stainless lock. That goes thru handle of T-8 and to the welded on tow eyes on transom.

Chain #2 same stuff rockwell 60 w Boron but Master brand thru handle and then thru hole drilled in alu kicker bracket - this is some of the stuff they use to secure $30K harleys...

Mcgard lock on thru bolts

finally: welded the T-8 to the boat - hard to do with fiberglass but essential with the !@#$#@! nutcase thieves we have. The t-8 is heavy enuf in the XXL that I tow the boat in for service to the kicker anyway..

Bills' locksmith in Kent can get the above locks/chains in a day or so: about $150 a set, not cheap but essential and cheaper than deduct and the frustration..

sorry to hear about your loss..

No contact info by the person either. Does look kind of suspicious.

I would be all over that! That is guaranteed to be it. A newer 8hp Yamaha for $800.00, no way...

Re: STOLEN! T-8 - 11/15/06 12:24 AM

Puyallup
no contact info
short, tentative, non-informed listing
and like HH says $800 for motor thats easily worth double that.

I wonder if craigslist cooperates in IP traces..or at least can tracert it back to the ISP... the internet service provider can come up with the street address of the computer that posted the listing if the listing happens to disappear.

good luck.

Thanks for keeping an eye out, I have emailed craigs list about the ad, did any of you by chance contact the person posting the ad? If so, I would like any other info that you may have.

Thanks, Jerry - FishNgKing

Re: STOLEN! T-8 - 11/15/06 11:58 AM

Here is the reply from craigslist.
Apologies for the trouble, but unfortunately we can't release the poster's
information in this situation without a subpoena or a search warrant, per
craigslist policy and Federal privacy law. If the police are
investigating, this kind of request may be part of their process.

Regards,
craigslist customer service
I was sure this would be the case, but it couldn't hurt to try. I will call the police and see if they will do anything with it. I am not holding my breath... Thanks again, for your help. Jerry

Re: STOLEN! T-8 - 11/15/06 01:38 PM

Darn, wish CL would cooperate more readily on these types of cases. Maybe the police would issue the Supeona?? I hit the No Contact info button hoping the guy would edit his ad, he must have freaked and cancelled.

At least it gives you an area to focus on; Puyallup. Check the South Hill pawn shops etc. and hopefully it will turn up.
I would also put a wanted ad for the exact same motor in Craigslist to see if the dumb mutha &^%&^*%!! responds.

Re: STOLEN! T-8 - 11/20/06 04:30 AM

I also had my T-8 stolen in early November. Mine was an 06 so I feel your pain. Did you notify the dealer you got it from? They will put the serial number on their list of stolen motors so if it ever shows up at a dealer they will know.
