Can anybody recomend a good sturgeon/salmon guide in the lower Columbia? Hundreds on the net say their all the best. A buddy and I were looking to catch some sturgeon but we woulndt mind doubling up with salmon on the same trip. Thinking mid May.

Where do you live? If you can, I'd go to the Fraser River in BC instead, unless you wanted to keep the sturgeon (it's catch and release only in BC). I think you have a much better shot at catching a big sturgeon up there. We went last year and the river was totally blown, but our guide Merr at Harrison Hot Springs put us on a dozen or so fish, with the biggest being 8' and 5'-6' being average. The big one took 30 minutes to get in on heavy braid and tight drag.

Thankx for the suggestion fishpinner. I live in Clarkston in extreme southeast Washington. I wanted to keep at least one sturgeon for eatn'.
