Fishing - 05/10/01 02:23 PM

Anyone headed over to the seep lakes this weekend?

I decided to make a long weekend of it and o fishing this weekend. I tied up some new flies to test out, some big brown chronies that should be close to what was hatching two weeks ago. I'll also have damsels with me in case they start.

As Trout Master trained Micro Brew two weeks ago, I have allowed a young accolyte to apprentice with me starting this weekend. I will show him the way of the leech, and hopefully, the chronie and the damsel nymph.

He will be blindfolded as we travel to the "secret lakes". Well... at least sworn to secrecy.

I'll also check out if those fish could be interested in a Prince Nymph... or if they just target big ugly things. Last time there I was using #4, 4xl to #8 subsurface flies on 8 lb leaders.

Micro Brew,

Maybe you didn't teach him everything as I notice his "signature" still asks "what is a bobber".

Dang.. you think he'd have noticed that little thing that floated his chronie.

He can't see very far so he holds it in his hand.

I've had to go to bigger and bigger indicators as the smaller ones are hard for me to see under certain conditions.

Do you think I may suffer from what Trout Master has?

and.. I've caught some trout that were so big I needed two hands to hold them up...<big smile>

My eye sight is getting so bad that I've thought of using beach balls for indicators

I like bright red... white gets a little hard to see in bright glare

For when I require yarn indicators I've gone to using the whole damn sheep! Can be a pain to cast though.
