My bro wants to check this area out. Anyone know of any good areas or tactics? Would like to actually hunt on the big water, but other places are just as good. Thanks!

When I was in high school (back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth) There were a lot of farms near Elma and Montesano that would let you on their land. Some had ponds, but most were just flooded fields. great for ducks and geese and didn't need a dog. You might give this general area a try.

Right near Satsop, on the way back, I saw a HUGE northern mallard drake sitting in a pond. I told my brother, and pulled off and saw a farmer and his wife. I talked to the farmer, he said that area was off limits, but that we could hunt his fields... We completely screwed ourselves out of a nice flock of geese, by standing to soon. Other then them, we saw some more mallards, some widgeons, and what I THINK must have been a pair of woodducks, but i could have been and probably was wrong.

Fun times, probably going back tomorrow with either the boat or dog.
