I'm heading over to the Potholes for some waterfowl hunting. Has it picked up at all? Everything I have heard lately says that it has been pretty slow. If it is, we'll just have to do a little walleye fishing instead.

Choices, choices.

If the guys at Mardon say it's slow,I'm not wasting my time by hunting the dunes. The report on their website says it's been very tough hunting the last three weeks. The dunes are bad, with the only decent shooting, coming from some of their field hunts.

We hunted Crab Creek on Monday in winds gusting to 45 mph and there were birds EVERYWHERE. GREAT day of shooting. Almost all big northern drakes.

Tuesday was a little slower, but me managed some good mallards again.

We also fished in the pm and took home a 5 lb, 6.5 lb, 8 lb, and 12 lb walleye.

Overall, a GREAT trip to the reservoir!

There still has not been the big push of northern birds yet. Hopefully Canada will get some foul weather soon. (or should I say fowl weather soon)

Good hunting everyone!
