This guy is getting the WDFW shaft-ola!

Getting The Shaft

This pisses me off.

What's up with the WDFW lately? The guy is totally getting the shaft for having past "issues" with the law 24 years ago.

Read the articles. Sounds like he had every right to defend himself, his family, and his property against this bear. I would have shot that bear in a heatbeat as well.

The guy must be related, or know Joe.

Sure hope he can afford a good laywer.

WDFW is just grabing the easy ones, no matter how stupid it is.
What ever happened to going after the tough ones?

Sez he was a convicted felon but deferred sentence. So my take is just the sentence was deferred. Probation? I wonder is his felony burglary charge involved a gun? There is an appeal process for convicted to own guns again I've seen advertised, but he's still a convict, even after 24 years. Shoulda done the 3 S's.

well if he was convicted when he was 17 the felony charge is able to be dropped when you turn 18. that is if you ask the courts to do so. my friend just went and had his dropped. my friends was for car theft. idk in this case though. plus it was some 24 years ago that makes a big difference in the laws.

the guy said that he passed background checks to own the guns. if he infact did pass them when he purchased the guns. wouldnt it be on record that he did?

You can thank Sara Brady and her cohorts for this type of crap.

Theres a ton of people out here with guns. That could end up being felons real easy.

You dont have to be a convicted felon to lose your gun rights.

Have you ever violated a restraining order.
Been convicted of 4th degree assault.
Any Domestic violence issues.

These and others will cost you your gun rights.

Its not that hard to get your rights restored on a state level. But federal is a whole different ballgame.

Oh.and if your turned down on a nics check.Good luck finding out why.It can take months. They wont tell you exactly why. They tell you the rporting agency and you have to do the research.

yeah i almost lost my gun rights, its a very scary thought to know that my life of hunting could be over just by a judge saying guilty. thankfully i payed the money for a good lawyer.
