This is kind of a dead time of year for hunters, I guess I can say that Achewter and I might have some very nice lab pups for sale in a couple months.

It's a dead time of year for hunting, but it's prime time to hone your skils.

Pratice every day. Shooting, calling and shed hunting.

And spring bear season is just a couple of weeks away thumbs

Spring Bear opens next week. Hopefully I will have some pics and a story shortly.

Did some Coyote hunting recently. No pics, Forgot the camera. We have killed a few this winter

The Nutria killing has been decent when the weather is nice. You have got to love the grass seed farmers that let you hunt them.

Ive also been putting a lot of lead down range at the rifle and pistol club I joined recently. I won a bowling pin shoot last Saturday. They set up pin at 400 and 500 meters, 10 pins at each line. You get 10 shots per 10 pins. I went 5 for 10 at 500 and 8 for 10 at 400. I used my .243 Ackley Improved. They also have hanging steel targets at those ranges and Ive been using my .300 Win Mag on those to get confident in shooting longer ranges when hunting.

Ive also been spending a lot of time at the reloading bench getting ready for a 4 day Sage Rat, Rock Chuck and Coyote hunt coming up soon. I have 800 rounds of .223 loaded for the AR, 300 for the .243 AI and Ive stock piled a metric [censored] ton of .17 HMR and .22 LR Now if the weather would cooperate I can get some shooting in.

That sounds like a nice range !

Love to try my M-70 Heavy Varmint in 243 Winchester topped w/ a 6-24X on those. My reloads w/ Sierra's 70 grain HP @ 3500 fps will hold 1/2" MOA thru 200 yards (5 shots) on a good day.

Come on down! LOL

Im pushing a 75gr V-max at around 3700fps. I have to back em down a 1/2 of a grain when shooting in warm weather. They are right at the max. They shoot really well though. .25" groups at 100. I havent tried a group at 200, Havent had good enough conditions. I can hit clay pigeons at 300 meters all day though.

The rifle is a Model 700 VS that has been tweaked a little.

You just have to love those 6mm pills!
