More Elk Hookups

I just got this from a friend in Montana. These two were found near Drummond. They were barely alive by the time two archery hunters came upon them. They both shot one, put their tags on them and ended their seasons early. They reported that couldn't get the antlers untangled even after the elk were dead.

I wonder how good that meat was after the elk had struggles almost to the death while in rut?

Hate seeing them die getting tangled like that. Watched the biggest bull I had ever put my eyes on die a slow death after getting hit by a crewbus. Kept trying to stand up on it's broken legs and you could hear the bone rubbing. I went to get my rifle about 1/4 mile away but the crew had a handgun and dispatched it. Just before season and a damn bruiser.

Seen something close to that out Stams way last month or so. Sucks. Good luck,
