With fishing prospect looking dismal I wonder if this section of the board will get more action. I cant wait for Fall except i don't want summer to pass too quickly.

I recently picked up a Rem 700 .308 in stainless and can't wait to get it out. I've got some scouting planned in the coming weeks if nothing just to get outside.

How about the rest of you hunters?

The Rem 700 is my favorite action.
BDL fanboi for life.
I'll be picking up my first Mauser-actioned rig tomorrow.
We'll see how it goes.

Fishin's good and huntin's good.
You just have to work for it a little more each year.
Don't give up.

Nice rifle choice. I will be hunting more this year and trading sea lice for ticks. Currently saving up as much vacation time as possible for next fall. Vacation time that's normally reserved for fishing. Thinking about hunting bear for the first time - which has been a mental struggle for me for sometime. F' it. Smokey is gonna die after I introduce him to Mr. Nosler.

I spent $420 dollars yesterday on mine and the kids licenses and permits, I hope we can still hunt. I'm just hoping I don't have to have written permission from an Indian to do it.

Other than the obvious, what happened within that hour DF? Yard bear?

Small yard bear that was on a predictable schedule. I interrupted that schedule. The Aero AR-10 is officially broken in.

I wouldn't want to be a game animal in DF's sphere of influence.

No kidding. I bet he doesn't even let his coffee get cold.

Congrats on breaking in the new AR-10 DF. Now go make us some pepperoni sticks please.

Sadly for those due north, Mayer's Custom Meats is in Vancouver, WA.
THE BEST sausage products and meats west of the Mississippi.

My favorite is the Jalapeno and the Habanero pepperoni sticks.
AND the honey pepper beef jerky.

If you go, tell them it's first visit and get a free rack of pepperoni sticks.
Not one stick, but a full package of 6 !

And yes, they do wild game processing.

I typically spend more time hunting than fishing. I really like fishing, but every year am anxious to get in the woods and fields. I guess I'll spend less time chasing salmon and more time chasing game.

Did the $325 gig for the kid and I for the WA special permits the end of April. Had some extra scratch so I put in for an Idaho Moose tag...and got drawn! Made my day yesterday! Spend enough cash, there is HOPE

Well the son, daughter and I made our annual $427.40 contribution for licenses and special permits. The kids should be getting close for some of the youth hunts.
