Bullwinkle the elk - 06/23/16 10:14 AM
Anybody been following the saga in Kittitas County where a guy won by bidding an any elk in the state tag. He went and shot a local "star" elk that was almost a pet. Anyway, there is some sort court case.
The interesting aspect is that the defendant has folks who will testify that a WDFW sergeant said it was OK to kill it. Then, WDFW arrests hime and takes his hunting privileges because he did.

It almost looks like entrapment to tell the guy to go ahead and shoot the animal and then arrest him for doing so. I agree, Stam, that this seems to be a case of ""I'm rich enough to do whatever I want" but the WDFW mucks it up.

I read the rules of the raffle, and I read the regulations. Any person who did that would've realize that that bull was not legal to shoot. Regardless of what the WDFW staff told this guy, he was wrong.
