Washington Special Draw Permits - 06/21/18 01:22 PM

They are doing the drawings now...we should all find out later today what we did or didn't get.

I just applied for my second deer (antlerless) as usual, and I expect to get it and fill it!

Fish on...

The kid and I got late buck Pogue whitetail, and he also got Malaga Cow. The cow tag is cool, as we live in the unit.

I'm now at 21pts for quality deer, 20 for sheep, 19 for goat. Not sure how I messed up the point total on the goat and sheep over the years? Maybe I'll get drawn for a Chelan County mule deer tag someday....

Me three!

Couldn't draw it last year for archery so put in for MF this year, which is the beauty of the Multiseason tag. It makes sense, since I didn't even pack my bow for last year's trips to Whidbey.

This year's Special Permit draw was an even bigger sh!t show than year's past. Got the email at 5 a.m. saying results have been posted but couldn't get into the system and check the results until 5 p.m.! They either need new IT people, new servers, or a new company to run the draw....what a joke!

Nice draw there Snit!

So how many points did you draw moose with, and how many years ago? I think we deserve a pic as well wink

Thanks Ike! Cousin and I were drawn for moose in 06, and we prob had 9 points. He shot a dink, I got a decent bull with 3 brow tines. I've got a pic somewhere.

I put in for Idaho a couple years ago and got drawn 1st time. That bull is 1" smaller spread, so I just did a European on it (saved me some cash LOL ) . Neat critters.

Congrats to everyone who scored a permit.

For all my years muzzleloading coastal blacktails, I've never applied for a special hunt permit.....until this year. And I got drawn for an early antlerless tag!

My question is this, what do we carry with us in the field to show evidence of the special permit? I could find no mention of it in the regs nor online on the dept's FAQ.

Congrats Eric (and others too!). You will receive a postcard that is the evidence of your special permit. Carry that with you during the season.

I drew a White River muzzy bull tag! I'm excited to hunt some big bugling bulls in the wilderness!

My wife drew a 2nd deer tag and a cow tag. My dad drew the same cow tag, a Quilomene rifle deer tag, a west klickitat buck tag, and a MH 2nd elk tag. We should have a busy fall. I better get to work eating the 3 bulls we killed last year to make room.

Holy moly WSU - those are some great tags! Good luck getting ready for all that over the next couple of months. As always, I know a guy that can help eat all the elk ya' got. wink

I may be giving it away yet.

I’m pretty worthless at work now. I can’t seem to stop researching, looking at maps and aerial photos, and planning my mountain assault.

Wow. You're gonna need some more freezers pal...or a cold storage locker.

Of all those tags the Quilomene tag is the one that really makes me drool. Tell your Dad to forget about the Klick tag...you cannot beat the quality of mule deer in the Quilomene. Unlike most of mule deer herds in this state, that one is in fine shape. Should be a fun one...

My dad has the lucky touch with the quilomene tag. This is his third time drawing it. I’m still at zero quality buck tags. We shot a dandy last time!

And hopefully I haven’t taken all the cougs luck. We are headed over for the game against Utah the weekend before my elk tag. Not crazy about the timing but made hotel reservations and promised the kids a game a and weekend at the pool. Talk about first world problems!

Re: Washington Special Draw Permits - 07/17/18 03:34 PM

The hits keep coming.

I got my permits in the mail and found out I drew a Pumice Plains 2nd cow tag. I missed seeing that when I checked on my phone. That should be a blast too!
