Wa Background Check

Wa Background Check - 03/17/20 08:05 AM

I purchased a rifle from Wades on Jan 16 and still haven’t heard piss from them. I’ve called a few times and they said they would check and get back to me they never do. Now they’re too busy dealing with walk in dipshits to pick up the phone. It now been 45 business days and counting.

What’s the law? I thought after 30 days you cleared by default but am probably wrong about that. Should I call the local Sheriffs office.

I could go to Wades and stand in line with the dipshits but I’m afraid that’s a waste of time and they’ll just say “nope haven’t heard back.”

Do I have any course of action to help expedite this or am I stuck in paperwork hell?

Stupid thing is I got my CPL in about a week from Sno County six months ago so I’m sort of confused.

Help!

After 3 days of non-reporting back on your NICS, Wade's can legally sell you the firearm. It doesn't mean that they have to, but they can by law if they want to (they won't). NICS are good for 30 days. After 30 days, you have to reapply.

New WA laws make it so that CPL holders must now also go through state background checks, depending on the type of weapon purchased (handguns & those super scary semi auto rifles). CPL's are no longer a free pass to purchase and collect a weapon on the same day, unless it's a manually actioned long gun.

I regret to inform you that this situation does not look good.

I'd be over at Wade's raising holy hell right now.

80%'s are looking pretty good these days no? wink

He did. He got it sorted the day he made that post. Amazing what actually going down to the store for a solid bitch session will accomplish vs. coming here. Who knew?

Yea I did.

Lynnwood address but I’m not actually in Lynnwood so the paperwork needs to go thru Sno County. 30 days of no action at Lynnwood but Sno Cty processed it in five days so it cleared 10 days after being submitted there. PITA especially since I told them it needed to go to Snohomish originally.

When I purchased the rifle in January I was like one of three customers in there. When I picked it up in March there were at least 50, mostly first time buyers, complaining that I was able to walk out with my rifle in a few minutes. The guy helping said it was there best month ever. They were so busy they weren’t even answering the phone.

Got the Grey Ghost .556. Now if I could just shoot the thing. I haven’t even sighted it in yet. I’ve been a good little peasant staying at home but I’m getting close to going rogue and taking all my guns to the woods for a good shooting session.
