Anybody go huntin'? - 12/14/22 01:50 PM

Surprised at the silence. But, then again, various issues kept me out of the field. If I can get some range practice in I will try for some pigs and sheep in Oregon January/February.

Yup.
I hope you make it a point to get out.
It's just a matter of time until the hunting goes the way of the Steelhat.

What will save hunting, I believe, will be the development of fee-for hunting as is happening in TX and throughout the South. There will need to be an economic value in it.

And, there will need to be an education piece amongst the consumptive and non-consumptive users.

So true...

It’s been a good season so far.

Focused on the Upland birds so far this season with two new bird dawgs added to our pack, and needing live/wild bird contacts for training. Mostly chasing Pheasant, a bit of Valley quail, and lotsa Forrest Grouse so far. Good numbers of birds, crazy puppies, tons of Bismuth fired thru the smokepoles, and even blessed with a bird or two for the pot.

Have a great hunt down in Oregon. ( or up to Oregon if living south wink )
