Have been keeping a close watch on the Nisqually with no dogs showing yet. Was very successful with the kings this year. Hey Osprey, the same spot for kings is also excellent for the dogs and JimBoy, you didn't make it there yet but the same applies. Give me a call, Jim, or E-Mail me for more info on what works...Keep those new lines tight (and for these dogs make sure it is new!)...Tom

Chums are in the green as are alot of silvers. The chums on the Nisqually tend to run later and will show better towards the end of the month.

I live and work next to the river. Yes, they show early but, I don't fish it till they show in bigger numbers, around Dec.Do well on flies.

Jigman,
I was on the green last friday up at the bend between the logjam and the car body hole. You are correct about silvers, but they are the typical stubborn lockjaw bast*rds that we all love to hate. Didn't see any chum though. Do you think they have gotten up as far as Metzler creek yet, or should I wait a couple more weeks?
Thanks for the report.

went down to metzler's on saturday and saw two chums caught as well as a bunch of silvers. Even heard two winter runs caught earlier in the week.

Sounds like the chums are around Metzlars but I prefer to fish them lower in the river around the Auburn golf course. Flaming Geyser gets loaded with chums also. The steelhead caught at metzlars were probably summer fish, I've heard of alot of summer fish in the middle section. It's still a little early for winter fish on the Green and the indians are netting 6 days a week right now so not too many will make it through.

Schizo - Metzler is up by Flaming Geyser. The parking area is kinda hidden. I hope I can remember how to get in there. Once you get parked, then you have a pretty good hike to get to the hole. If the fish are there, it is well worth the hike. Plan on sore arms the next day. I've never had a fight like these bad boys. Good luck.

It's not too far below geyser. There's a sign at the turnoff.

Went to metzler. My friend had a fish pick up his eggs. Jumped once and was gone. Not sure what kind of fish it was.

I fished the Nisqually yesterday morning, from the Mounts road bridge down to the rock wall. Nada. Didn't see any fish rolling, either. Water is so muddy you can't see your feet in ankle deep water.

There a still a few better shaped silvers comin up during the tidal changes around Allentown, caught 1 and seen 4 other silvers still on the brighter side caught on Sunday and spoted 1 chum during the low tide as it was swimming upstream about a 12 Lb'er.
