Dick Nites and Wicked Willies - 12/10/00 04:12 PM
After being a hard core egg man for years and years I finally made the change to hardware this year. Once I started I couldn't stop. Knocked the Coho dead with em, actually I might have had the best year ever and no messy eggs all over my gear. Question I have is do these same lures work for Steelhead? I have use Mepps long ago but would be interested to know if anyone has had good luck with the Dick Nite and Wicked Willies. Thanks for any info!

We caught a few steelies on Dick Nite's fishing on the Salmon River a couple years ago. However.......there were so many fish heading back to the hatchery that day that I think they would have bit on a hot dog.
I've hooked a couple incidentally on Dick Nite's while fishing for coho too.

Have also incidentally caught a summer-run using a hot green Wicked Willy while targeting pinks on the Snohomish. Also, helped an angler land a low-teens summer-run at Rieter with a 50/50 DN stuck in the corner of its jaw a few seasons back.
