Thanks for all of the serious responses and I will continue to sift through them and re read them.
I like the idea of "fighting for my marriage"..so at this time that is what I plan to do.
This is another reason why I love this site. Thanks I didn't get the impression you were "throwing her under the bus" or that you were unnecessarily harsh. I am sure she would have negative comments also if we were her audience. I admire your loyalty though and applaud your choice to fight- it is never too late to try and the potential rewards are huge. Aunty thinks we are a bunch of predisposed sexists when actually the majority of the advice offered was exactly opposite. As for your quote- I couldn't have said it better myself; PP rocks. Good luck to you Sandu.

Now we can all form a circle and throw up.

Now we can all form a circle and throw up. Productive criticism? Not.

Nope. Just criticism. Productive would be if I posted links to advice columnists.

Throwing up is what you seem to do here daily as the resident cynic.
You and KK should sponsor a blood letting party.

Or we could sit in a circle and sing. Maybe even sign a Promise Keepers pledge or two. Later on we could take turns confessing to stuff.

A marriage is always a work in progress. We'll have been married for 40 years. The final basic question to ask yourself is whether you are better with your wife or better without her. I've probably asked myself that question at least once a year, if not more often, since we've been together. Our last anniversary I asked my wife why she's stuck it out with me and she said because I can still make her laugh. I didn't ask if it was at me or with me.

Chuck, that's an awesome yardstick to use, and I agree. I've asked friends from time to time, "When was the last time you laughed until it hurt?" Me bride and I hug and laugh uncontrolably semi-regularly...usually over some smart arse comment one to the other. I love it.
