see what i love about rivers like that is people think they know...i laugh all the way to limits every year. they dont know the river...the gear...reading water yadda yadda yadda. its just lame dealing with the retards that think the ONE fish they catch or the 3 they see caught is good fishing on slow days. they ask me what gear im using...they pester me with where i was fishing ( the hole they just left usually) blah blah. the little green used to be a secret. i still know a ton abotu that river that keeps me going back at times of year, and places people dont even know. but its still irritating when people with mouths tell people that don't take the time to find the info on a river or research and find their own honey hole. so i smile...and lie my [Bleeeeep!] off...." this fish? oh...yeah just drift fishing eggs up a ways..got lucky really...haven't even touched a fish since then " " been tough fishing eh? yeah me too...must be staging down river for the rains.." BAHAHAH amazing what these kooks will swallow.

Yup spoons. I did 4 after work trips this week and went 5 for 7 over those four days. 4 fish hooked on spoons and three on my jigs. it's hard to fish jigs anymore once you know what a spoon take is like...fuck1ng breath taking! Where I was wasn't red hot or anything but I did have a great time and it looks like you did the same. Keep doing your thing merg.

I think both Drew and Merg could post a bit less of their fishing lives to the Internet. Merg, you complain about "your" river way too much. Drew, you give away your secrets too much. It is just kind of dumb. It's Sat morning at 5AM. Rivers look good.......

Spoons are secrets? Haha. This is new to me. And yes Jason, the rivers do look good this morning. If I didn't start work at 4:00 this morning making double time pay I'd be fishing. Money is a good thing though.

Merg was lucky enough to have me bike into his secret spot behind him...yes its a gravel road, but 5.4 miles to get to the water so I really doubt that any of you mooks even know where it is or how to get in...let alone want to put the work in for it!

needless to say, imagine my surprise to see him back there..NOT HAPPY!

I can say he did a great job landing said fish and that my knife(although dull) made evident that it was an early summer fish,...I thought the same at first too (for how far up the river we where) but was quite surprised to see nice red meat.. not kelty at all, tell by a small milt sack that was thin, but short in length, not long and stringy like a kelt rebuilding its sac (i guess fisheries school DID teach me something)...and to my astonishment Merg was a nice guy to fish with for a couple miles before I had to ride outta there...that walk sucks dont it Merg? you'll bring a bike next time wont you? smart boy...

Jason- its 7am..rivers look good so STFU and go get some action, ABU ..i hear you bitchin(like you have never done the same info drop??) and while close you need to learn your watersheds a bit more before you go around throwing out names to show your fishin prowess and just how f8ckin "cool" you are...i wont b%tch and call out the others, you know who you are

For all those saying its a down river fish....

I don't think the river gets many, if any, hatchery winter fish, so that would indicate summer.

Second, it used to be open much earlier and there were always fish there.
