So, I've been officially "done" with springer fishin for the last couple weeks. Got my stuff together, and hit the dusty trail north. Got settled into a great new place north of Anchorage for the season. Even got to formally meet PP's own ColeyG. Good dude, with a giant heart, that's for sure. And I hope to maintain our newfound friendship for years to come! Can't ask for a better welcome to town than what he gave me. Forever grateful for that! It won't be forgotten, and it'll come full circle soon! I swear! ;-)

My springer season was probably much like everyone else's. Not stellar, but we got our fish. I ended up filling an OR harvest tag with some absolutely gorgeous spring kings. I feel very blessed we were able to dial it in, and keep on top of the few fish that wanted to tango.

Mostly fished the Willamette near Oregon City, but we did our fair share of damage down lower in the system, as well as a few on the Columbia when we could all get out there. I feel great about the fishery that we were able to take part in, and have no gripes about the total numbers of fish, getting up close and personal with lots of sea-cats, or the new to Oregon gear regulations. We got to gather in small groups, and fish! Who could gripe about that?!

Here's a few pics of fish we got to tussle with, and some other random, but meaningful(to me) pics from the last few trips out... I left my camera back in OR, so this is what I've got to show as of this posting. Enjoy!..or not. But appreciate what we get to do. I live for this fishery, and love to watch green horns bust knux with ruddy chromers!

Here we go...

Kenai Kwik doin work

Hello gub-nah!

Goodbye!

But we got 'er!

Autopilot engaged! Ha! She's a floater!

This guy fought this fish with a freshly dislocated shoulder.

Obligatory glory shot... There weren't enough boats out there so the sea-kittens got fed quite a bit!

Big chrome buck.

Scarecrow of sorts? Sure!

Healthy, fat lard fillets

The walk to work for him was excellent that day!

Keep it clean... Yeah right!

Tha Cranbouncer doin it's thang.

Box'd in...

Purrty lil hen!

Snowbelly blinger.

I'd eat off of that plate!

One fish...

Two fish! By 7 am!

Hey! This is a springer thread... Ah, why not a scummer too!

Makin a mess.

Scale spitter!

Flossed 'im!

The John's with a couple of dinks... Mint lil bastids!

Blood in the boat.

Purple chrome!

The best part for good eats!

Just cool fish!

Unique colors on some strains.

Takin us to the honey hole!

He thought it was SO funny to goose it and make a mess of the carefully arranged scent bottles! Cap'n knows best tho!

Lunch on the beach with the resident green heads.

Perfect evening for me to end my southerly season. Happy to be able to just take it all in... Hope you guys are staying safe, having fun, and enjoying what we are so lucky to have! Tight lines guys and gals! See you in Sept.
