Fishing Friends

When a Washington legislator supports sport fishing, sport fishers should support them. There are two that we should send a contribution to. One is Senator Kirk Pearson ( R ), hero of the steelhead hatchery hearings that caused Director Anderson to retire as of December 31. He is chairman of the Senate Natural Resources committee. The other is Representative Hans Dunshee ( D ). He was CCA's Legislator of the Year in 2012 for his work on hatchery funding. He is chairman of the House Budget committee and is on the Agriculture and Natural Resources committee. The powerful positions they hold take years to achieve. As you know fish are a natural resource and they both can help to get us fair treatment. Make check or money order payable to Kirk Pearson for State Senate, 105 Pearson Lane, Monroe, WA 98272. Make check or money order payable to Friends of Hans Dunshee, 1526 Lake View Ave., Snohomish, WA 98290 or online at his website. They need your name, address, phone number and employer to comply with P.D.C. laws. Please identify yourself as a sport fisher. Legislators can't receive contributions at their Olympia office and they can't accept contributions 30 days prior to or during a legislative session or special session. The next session will begin January 12.
