Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/13/12 11:05 PM

I have and bring my own gear, quality fish catching bait, rigged leaders, plenty of beer and scotch/bourbon, but I don't smoke so no cigs. I tend to know what I'm doing, can and do fish well and can row too.

Got cap going on tomorrow or I would have taken you up on the offer.

Best of luck tomorrow and hope you get in to a pile of them!

I'd go in a heartbeat but I'm on call at work. I fit all the criteria AND I've got awesome bait ,too bad for me.

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/13/12 11:45 PM

I wouldnt go considering the Gooch is 2+Hrs away from me and there's not enough meth dens and banjo hoedowns for my arse to find my 2nd or 3rd cousin to get close to

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/14/12 12:21 AM

F-it just going to bank it else where. might need a seat filled on the 28-29 of this month. Im starting a new night warehouse job (beer/alcohol/wine distributing beer) and its gong to cut my fish horribly in half on the weekends so i want to get as much fishing in now... will post any seats in the future thanks -Rags

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/14/12 09:14 PM

It wasnt a total bust.......went to another river SUPER SUPER LOW AGWA.....and found only 1 player hooking a fish in less than 24" of h20 and it going mach 10 back and fourth and while your looking like a monkey jacking off on a center pin trying to catch up........Good times

Note: no Dbag jig used all day grin

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/14/12 11:31 PM

is that just a Colorado blade on a split ring between two swivels?
Posted by: Anonymous

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/14/12 11:41 PM

looks like it... siwash on the lower swivel, not a new trick by any means... cheap to make as well... and work...

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/15/12 12:00 AM

That's what I caught my very first steelhead on!! A very long time ago. I was using 4 lb test and an angle worm below the blade fishing for trout.

Nice pic!!

100,000 BC anglers can't be wrong. Very popular up north and Rag's centerpin outfit is icing on the cake.

Have you had a falling out with jigs, or did Toff and Zog convince you that jigs aren't cool and pretty, flashy, metal blades are?

Nice fish, btw. thumbs

lol. No, I still use jigs but im in love with the blade/pin. You get fish more water then the jig and the best part you feel the grab insted of a jig/float were you see the float go down <---- lame
Zogs no longer on my cool list..... and Todd...who cares what he has to say. <----j/k slap

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/15/12 05:31 PM

under a float, you can also drift them if you want as well....

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/15/12 08:37 PM

hey rag's, if you need a warm body to fill an seat with someone whom knows a little about fishing, i can fill in just about any day of the week or weekend.
i can not row for you, but i can pitch a line all day long, and when we catch something i would be happy, other wise i would be happy to be out and about.

RH you never seen this setup either. but hear you go again posting like you hooked thousands on it.
drift fish it?....good luck on that.... you will get maybe 1 drift out of 100 that you wont snag up on

RH some Sh!t you say boggles my mind. You think you know everything about fishing but you cant catch fish.....and you post on hear like you catch 1000 a month? Someone just needs to take your computer away.
lets see a Red Hook tutorial on how to fish the Colorado blade.

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/15/12 09:09 PM

seriously? you gonna go there Jeff? who the hell says i cant catch fish? i dont pursue fish in the rivers during summer months much with the exception of this year... but if you insist, i will catch some silvers on the damn thing in Sept/October of this year...

never seen it? another version is the Indiana Blade, its a 50 cent poor mans spinner, that WORKS, like i SAID it works...

i used to use a similar application for Cutts, same setup, minus the hook, and use it as an inline attractor, ive used everything from Rooster Tail blades to Blue Fox blades, 3 feet of leader, wee Dick Nite... and troll it..

now you have one of MY secrets...

taking pictures of every fish you catch, isnt proving anything, i personally dont care, if you feel the need to go ahead... but dont discredit someone because they dont do the same sh!t you do...

never seen it lol... havent i pounded into your guys heads that my GF has a cabin in Campbell River BC? where do you think stuff like that got started at, Washington State?... yeah, never seen it...

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/15/12 09:54 PM

RH google search is your best friend isn't it.

Not every fish. I forget the Olympus at home more than i bring it fishing.

your not going to catch D!ck on it in Sept/October on it because your going to tie it on lose confidence on it in 3 seconds drift fishing then tie back on your double stacked rocket red corkies and 3/0 and cast back in the puyallup mud.

And no one going to like you any better because you tell us you have some made up girlfriend on the Campbell.

Do us all a favor UNPLUG YOUR COMPUTER FOREVER.

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/15/12 10:08 PM

1, i use 1/0s because i like them, 2 watch me, ill do it for an entire day, just for you... 3, i run corkies with my eggs, it seems to work for me, is what it is...

oh, and 4, heres the made up cabin in Campbell, IN, not ON, like i said, its close by tho, the Gold isnt that far either..

and this, is just because..

ocean front property is just as awesome as beach front property on the Canal... if you wouldnt have been a dick, you might have had an opportunity to come there some day... i was seriously contemplating asking if you would consider me for the trip, but im sincerely glad i didnt, i will take up other peoples offers... you should have kept your mouth polite...

a good friend of mines family owns a few cabins on the Kenai as well, but it dont matter anymore...

again, nice fish Jeff...im done with this conversation.... never seen it, fvckin rookie....

Re: Open seat (non guide) - 07/15/12 10:40 PM

Rags, I to have swung it under a float, and also just drifted it just as I have the #3 Brass blue fox, Just need a bit more current for both applications to help keep it off the bottom, a slight twitch now and again to keep it workin, Snag some, but soon you will feel if it is hitting the gravel or workin, Just a twitch to help it along. Killer on summer steel. nice fish also, Matt

RnS - Nice report! Been a long time since we have actually seen one of those on PP.

I have set my alarm several times to go fish the Nooch since it opened, but as of yet have not got out of bed. Just snooze bar and roll back over.

Hey Rags, I missed your post for the open seat on the 14th(damn) but I am open for a call anytime you need a body. (I'm retired so my schedule is WIDE open) I live in McCleary and have fished for salmon and steelhead for 50+ years. You can have all the beer and smokes. Gave them up to buy more fishing gear. Looking forward to meeting you and enjoying a day on the river. PS I do have some $$ for gas , bait, etc. Hank @360 470 6857 or cohodundee@comcast.net. Thanks.
