Look at the creel checks on the WDFW website.
A few pinks plus one big fat pussy have been landed.

Funny chit

Already too many pinks at Neah Bay last weekend. Some surprisingly large

Lol, I'm particularly excited for the humpies this year because I'm expecting my 5yo daughter to land her first salmon. Who knows, maybe my 3yo boy can land one too!

Re: Ok, I guess I'll be the first to ask... - 07/01/15 09:28 AM

Of course they both can.

Obviously you have previously done the Humpy thing.

Get it done on the water now.

Sorry for distracting these ya-hoo's, MPM.
Good luck on getting the little ones into some fish.
My oldest turns 3 in the heart of steelhead season this year. I'm going to do my best to get him into a fish.

Today there were some just North of Hoodsport. It will be interesting to see how the closure area off Sund Rock will be enforced.

Hoodsport aready? Usually don't see them until around my birthday (21st).

In about a week or so.

Good luck finding a spot without a bunch of knuckle dragging meth smoking toothless snagging scumbags. Pink season really brings them out of the woodwork.

That's why I like fishing off the base here on Whidbey. We get a good shot at them and I don't need to fish near the weirdo's.

Every year I see people retaining and cleaning king salmon thinking they are pinks. Neah bay and Sekiu are hotspots for that.

It's good to know there aren't any weirdos in the military on the island.

Friend found LOTS at Sekiu this wekend. Strangly most were very deep, as in 200 feet.

Re: Ok, I guess I'll be the first to ask... - 07/13/15 04:35 PM

Caught about 592 at Neah Bay this past weekend. If you fished anywhere inside you could catch one every five minutes all day every day. We tried to king fish in there for about half an hour and then didn't try again wink

We got a few at Swiftsure on 7 inch plugs 225 feet deep. There are more than a few on their way.

Fish on...

The other estimate is 1 million Buzz Bomb throwing snaggers on the Snohomish.

We nailed a crap ton of them out in Juan De Fuca this weekend. They were jumping all over the damn place, including inside Cattle Pass and Rosario. Got several of them with 150' of cable out pounding the bottom.

Also had a sockeye nail my 3" spoon and rip the rod out of the clip with 195' of cable out. That was very unexpected but a welcome surprise!

Some limits being caught on the Whidbey beaches. Should make the king fishery interesting.

interesting, as I think we only boated a couple at neah earlier in the week. 1 definitely came from the deep (-230 ft). they must have showed up right after I left on Wednesday.

There are enough in Neah Bay now that on a lark we stopped outside of Waada on the way in on Saturday at lunch time and took out our flimsy little rockfish rods with tiny darts on them, and started chucking them around...and two of us caught the boat's limit of bonus humpies in less than ten minutes.

They were jumping all the hell all over the place in there...and are about to fill up a couple loads in the canner here in just a bit today wink

Fish on...

Smoker fodder... my wife loves to fish for them...

I hate the little buggers. They mess up the King fishing. I'd rather wait till the run dwindles and have a better chance at a Silver myself...

Stupid Humpies...
