My next wedding cake (ADULT CONTENT) - 10/29/07 02:38 PM

Guess which part gets smashed in her face at the reception?

Re: My next wedding cake - 10/29/07 03:02 PM

Just wear her face like a jockstrap during the first dance, out in the middle of the floor.. that'll do a much better job of getting the message across... ;\)

Why should I have to pay for the wedding, and the divorce? Point well taken Marsha.. ;\)

I played house for 12 years and it made me fat, drunk and angry. It wasn't for me. Playing it again with a different opponent won't happen.

That is the most beautiful form of placing blame I believe I've ever seen...

Because I'm an intolerant ass and my expectations of other people are too high.

Re: My next wedding cake - 10/29/07 06:13 PM

I forgot how nice it is to call my own shots. Like the $50,000 in cash I just spent on a brand new truck. Next is the sled and the house, and when it's all said and done I'll be debt free. Never again will I fuc% that up.

I agree with sol, I almost made the mistake of getting married once, thank god she is on the east coast. Its great to call your own shots, do what you want and spend your money or whatver with out someone telling you otherwise

Why must I enter into a contractual deal to prove my love to a woman? To have and to hold? My favorite drift rod is about as far as that goes. Been there, done that.

Todd, ditto here too (8 years) but I'm starting to get some pressure and I feel the walls closing in.....she told me she wants a ring by December, so I need to make some serious decisions soon!

Might be a bluff but you never know? Hate to lose her but not sure if I want to get married for the second time? ughhhhhhh

Re: My next wedding cake - 10/30/07 11:07 AM

You guys need to tell your woman that marriage isn't a test to tell how much you love them. If you really enjoy each other and are comapable why do you need a business contract? Because that's all it is. It's entrapment based on human insecurity.

Re: My next wedding cake - 10/30/07 11:27 AM

That's what I'm talking about! Just need to convince her of that ( like thats going to happen) Women always say they like the security of marriage, does this mean their more insecure? This is not a $$ thing, she earns more then I do. Auntym ?

Re: My next wedding cake - 10/30/07 11:30 AM

What she *really* means is she likes the insecurity of marriage, whether she knows it or not.

No need to tell her that...we've already talked about it and that's the way she feels, too...we'll probably get married sooner or later, but neither of us in any big hurry...

Why get married then? Tax purposes?

Re: My next wedding cake - 10/30/07 12:29 PM

Funny angle this thread is taking. My GF is kinda' creeped out by the whole marriage as a business contract thing. But that's just the way it is. What with building a new house and retiring in a few years, my attorney advised me that we proceed either with a partnership agreement or get married with pre-nups for us both, as we each have adult children and all that unromantic estate planning BS to deal with. As weird as it seems, at this stage in our lives, getting married would have little to do with our relationship and everything to do with our personal business and finance management. If we marry before I retire, she can join my health insurance coverage and save over $500 a month when she retires. That's a lot of fishing trips we can take during retirement. Ah, the things we do for love.

Re: My next wedding cake (ADULT CONTENT) - 10/30/07 02:39 PM

SolDuc,
Don't cave into the pressure no matter how hot she is. What would marriage bring you that you can't have without it?
There are thousands of women out there but you'll only have a few times in your life to be totally free. You get to call all the shots.
I just started my second freedom trip after 14 years of marriage. I'm going to be a free agent the rest of my life .

Stonedfish, I'm not thinking of caving in because of looks, that always fades anyways but the other good things. Free agency has it's perks too. Women are impossible to figure out!!!

One thing I learned besides never get married is never do anything your gut tells you otherwise because of "pressure" from anybody.

Re: My next wedding cake (ADULT CONTENT) - 11/01/07 05:51 PM

Funny you should say that. I knew the night before I got married that is was a mistake and I said "I do" the following day anyway because every relative we both had from all over the US was in town and I figured things would "get better." What a jackass.

Re: My next wedding cake - 11/12/07 02:20 PM

i was married once...would like to do it again with the man i am with now..there is no one out there that is that understanding about my fishing needs...im spoiled, i highly doubt there is anyone out there that would put up with my shiat as much as he does...mostly because i get what i want...what i want is fishing or well, ill just leave that open...

if you are going to get married...health care is a huge benifit...we would have much more to spend on fishing, and have no prob affording a real vacation away from here every year...

if i could recomend anything...PRE-NUPT!!!
another selling point of a prenupt is that it really doesnt last forever...
it does go away after years of being together...if you are with someone for over 15 years i belive it is almost gone by that time...or at least by twenty...just incase it doesnt work out after a few...i would have had to give up half my retirement to my x for only being married for a year...as soon as i was married, i knew it was not right...

maybe we will get hitched in Mexico in 358 days...hahahahaah....c

Re: My next wedding cake - 11/15/07 11:35 PM

the ammount of trouble i had getting thru customs in Mexico, i would be afraid to have a Mexican wedding...it would be awesome, but i think you need a shotgun? hahahah....

but really, i would love to get married by Elvis...that would be sweet....my man could promise not to be a Hound dog, and i could take him to me my hunk a hunk of burnnin love...hahahahha...just think that would be a fun one...

only thing is where ever we get married if we do, we need to make sure his mom is there...she takes care of her friend that keeps her at home twice a day for shots...she is always on a time schedule...basically we are waiting till she passes, or figure it out here...i dont want to do it here....but i will if we need to....c
