Never even heard of it...but I hope it works out for you, your fishing time would sure go up if you could get around better!

Good luck!

Had the steroid injections, the first ones gave me relief for about 9 months, the second injections lasted about 3 months--- At 59 they say I should wait for replacement. Each night when I get home my knees are swollen and hot to the touch. My orthopedic Dr. doesn't believe in narcotic therapy but I did talk her out of a script for 30 Vickies. Take a half every night when I get home. Aleve and over the counters doesn't help much anymore, although I still take an Aleve in the morning and one at night and have for the last 2 years. I'm pretty good dealing with pain but it's starting to wear me down. i do have a fear that when it's time for replacement the insurance company will look at my medications and not see much for pain therapy and wonder if my knees hurt at all.

Jerry,
My Orthopod used this stuff. Synvisc 3 injections 2 weeks apart. At first I thought it was snake oil but it actually worked. After 6 weeks I finally noticed some relief and it lasted for 6 months. Last year I finally gave in to the knife and sawsall and had both knees replaced. My knees no longer bother me but there are still some limitations as to what I can do. The fun times are just beginning when you turn 60! Bad knees sure limits a persons mobility.
I suffered with mine till I was 64, sure wish I had done the replacemants earlier.

All the best...

Jerry,
I have used Synvisc for the last 9 years I receive the injections every 6-8 months. The injections arent fun and there is a bit of pain shortly after the injections but a week after the third injection there is relief. If I start feeling that the synvisc isnt working I get scheduled for injections again. Dont wait because it will take 3 weeks for the shots and another to start feeling better. I have had 12 surgeries on my right knee and 3 on my left so its just a matter of before replacement.
At my age I have opted out of replacement I will see how I feel at 50 laugh
