Even though 'Back in Black' may suffer from to much hype I still find it to be super.

Back in Black was a fantastic album, and fortunately, meant that AC/DC didn't die with Bon. Huge props to Brian Johnson for stepping into shoes that were too big for anyone to fill, and keeping AC/DC rocking for more than 3 decades after Bon's death.

I blew tweeters out of my 2500W custom stereo in my mini truck in 1994 playing back in black in a bowling alley parking lot... I installed 2 pairs of tweeters the next week and the ears have been ringing ever since...

I watched a show about what the members of AC/DC do when they're not rocking - Brian Johnson likes to race cars. He tows his around behind his modest motorhome.

He was at a race when one of his competitors blew his engine up, and didn't have the scratch to rebuild it or buy another one, so he was going to drop out of the competition.

Miraculously, a crate showed up at the guy's trailer the next day with a new engine in it. Brian scored the guy an engine, and refused any thanks for doing it.

I watched an AC/DC documentary last weekend on cable that my AC/DC fan wife started watching. The band moved from Australia to England to get more exposure and worked their butts off. Bon Scott dressed as a girl and Angus dressed as a school boy. Early stuff from the early 70s. Became popular in the US later. I remember listening to these guys in HS in shop on KISW.

I saw on an interview that the name came from a sewing machine that was AC/DC.

"Angus and Malcolm Young claim they developed the idea for the band's name after seeing the acronym "AC/DC" on the back of a sewing machine owned by their sister, Margaret. "AC/DC" is an abbreviation for "alternating current/direct current", which indicates that an electrical device can use either type of power. The brothers felt that this name symbolised the band's raw energy and power-driven performances, and the name stuck."

The story I heard about Bon dressing like a girl and Angus adopting the schoolboy costume was that it was to get the attention of hard drinking bar patrons at their gigs in Australia. The audiences weren't very reactive, and they tried several gimmicks to get them more into it. At one point Angus wore a gorilla suit.

Can't remember exactly- might have come from the "Let There Be Rock" documentary that toured shortly after Bon's death. Anyone else see it?

Any AC/DC fan should really watch Family Jewels. Great footage of great songs by a great band.

I still like the video/movie 'Let There Be Rock' because of the live footage. Watching Angus do the rubber leg while they crank out 'Sin City' never fails to crack me up. I also like when he does a hook slide and gets back up with a huge dirt smudge on his back - never missing a note the whole time.

If they come through Seattle on their next tour I'll go see them - again - because they never fail to impress.
