I’ll bet hank and Stam that the A’s will be better than the giants and mariners.

The Giants better spend some money. The outfield is abysmal, pitchin in disarray, and seems like the whole front office is getting a shakedown. Good. The bandwagon fans got spoiled thinking we would just keep winning every even year. May never see another championship in my lifetime. Just ask Mariner fan.
Guess I must be getting old. Enjoy the game, hope the M's win, but simply like a good game. In the sunshine, on real grass. Same with football and futbol. Love to see them win, but there is always next year.

Honestly, I was so pissed at the M's annual late season let down that I had to step away from anything baseball related.
I'm sure the team has gone into another rebuilding mode after the Paxton trade. I have no idea what they've done or not done and I find it hard to care any longer.
rumor is that sf is in the Bryce harper sweepstakes. They shouldn't because nobody in the SF line up can protect him. He might walk 200+ times per year.

You don't think between Posey, Crawford, Belt, Longoria and Panik that anybody can protect him?
SF is too cheap to pick up Harper #1,and #2 they have a lot more issues than just one guy coming in. I don't like Harper. It tickled me pink when Papelbon had him by the throat and shook him like a rag doll for being a disrespectful punk. I think he's a cancer. Giants need pitching in that ballpark ,and guys that can get on base. Our outfield needs a major overhauling. Bryce Harper isn't the guy.
Bruce Bochy is retiring at the end of this season.
Too bad for Los Gigantes de San Francisco.
He brought us 3 championships and is a class act, hall of fame manager. His health hasn't been good the last couple of years. Saw it coming, the end of an era is near. Padres got Machado, but they will still lose. My feeling is frisco is gonna build up that farm system and I have a weird feeling we see Bumgarner in a Yankee uniform.
Harper hasn't signed up yet. Scott Boras is trying to snake his way to a 400 mil deal I guess. I really doubt the Giants would pay that much for this dude. I can see them overpaying for some more over the hill utility outfielders a la Denard Span/Andrew McKutcheon.

Good it's perfect for him then when he gets in a big slump those scrub assed fans can throw batteries at him from the bleachers. Fkn scrub. I never wanted that bastard on the Giants the front office wouldn't pay that much anyway. Ok Frisco bring on the old utility players wooooootttttt!!!!

That's a very high (er….low) bar to aspire too. Good luck with that.
Machado was dumb according to the income tax issue with calif. but to be fair, San Diego isn't the worst place to live.
Bryce Harper will make his spring training debut on Saturday with the phillies in clearwater FL.
Cameron Maybin drank too much in Scottsdale on Friday and found himself a DUI. Nice offseason Giants. DUI, domestic abuse, and zero meaningful signings.

It's not that easy, we've been trying for years. He's like that 10" trout at the kiddie pond with 6 lures stuck in his mouth and all the bystanders point and laugh as people throw [Bleeeeep!] in the water and the little fuker still chases down and inhales everyone's offering.
evo could have just said lol good one! I don't know baseball very well nor do I particularly like it.
instead he knows baseball from the 60's to the 2000s. and threw 85 mph as a 19 to 20 year old. Here's the facts with that, if he actually threw that hard a scout would have looked at him or at least his horticulture degree would have been free, mowing down the geeks at seattle U.
What Evo failed to mention was his 85 mph throw was at the '95 Puyallup Fair using state of the art radar guns. He won a big Giraffe and gave it to Katie, because that's what men do. The Carnie behind the counter was super impressed and offered him a job on the spot. Said he'd never seen anything like it. Called him Roy Hobbs. Evo promptly declined the job offer and then barfed up his double cheese dog riding the teacups. Got in a fight in the parking lot on the way out. Katie had to drive home because he had to stop the bleeding with his Big Johnson tshirt. He showed No Fear that night. True story.

ask any sports card shop owner in King and Pierce counties who i am, and they know...
Don and DJ's, Brian at the Baseball Card Shoppe, Knutsen was a fvckin prick and NW Sportcards, the West Coast owners are alright, but they will short you on prices.. Mill Creek is alright...
Don is actually one of if not the best around, and ive been going to him since he owned Warlords in the 80s....
like i said, i have enough sh!t around from the 60s through 2017 (football), that i could get any stat i want, without even a hiccup...
thats after selling the 1909 T206 cards, the 1912 T202 cards, and T207 cards, baseball and football cards from the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s... basketball cards including Wilt Chamberlain and Johnson, Jordan, Bird, ect second year cards, Mantle cards, Mays cards, Ruth cards (gave a 62 Fleer to my nephew)...
When I mentioned that there would be freshly Googled "expert" opinions spamming the thread, what in Heaven's name made you think I was speaking about you?
Just like using Google doesn't make someone an expert on anything other than searching Google, owning baseball cards doesn't make anyone an expert on anything other than owning baseball cards...and knowing stats doesn't mean anyone knows shitt about anything.
I hope this helps, but somehow I sincerely doubt it will.
I have hit 85mph at the batting cages a bunch. Its really really fast. No way can Evo throw that. That speed takes years and years of training and conditioning. The only reason so many guys are throwing so fast these days is a life time of work, something Evo isn’t doing. 85 isn’t fast by pro standards but its fast as fuk and would scare most people having that coming at them. I also hit 95 a bunch and that is a blip. Start swinging during the windup.

its called paying attention Todd, especially when you are interested in something...
you gain knowledge about players, histories, ect...
with what you just said, basically, reading something, is worthless and pointless and doesnt mean you are an expert, or know anything... (i never said i was an expert at anything BTW)...
so i guess college degrees are basically worthless, because people just read sh!t to get a piece of paper that says they did it...
and im 100 percent certain you were talking about me, only an idiot would see otherwise...
but go ahead and tell me im wrong.... i sincerely dont doubt you will...
If you want to know what I "basically" said, go read it. You have zero chance of understanding most of what I say, and adding your interpretation has a 100% chance of you being even more wrong.
jesus christ, now you know what ive done in my childhood through teens?
heads up, all i did was played baseball with the other kids from the neighborhood...
a couple of them went on to do some higher level stuff...
the only reason i never played in school, is because my family couldnt afford it... my dad wanted a nice house for his family, and it was expensive back in the early 80s...
oh well, i got good at other things like shooting and fishing...
oh yeah, Griffey used to come and watch us play at Kiwanis Park in Renton, he would be playing football with my friends Mike and Sam and the other monsters from the Highlands...
thats how i got 2 1989 Upper Deck RC cards autographed by him, along with 4 1989 Fleer and 4 1989 Donruss...
all of which were sold to Don and DJ's in Renton...

The most I was ever gunned at was 88mph, though I probably would waiver between about 85 and 90 at my best.
Unfortunately I never was able to learn another pitch well enough, and even 90mph fastballs start looking pretty fat when it's all you can throw.
Got to hit against several guys who could really bring it in college, and not surprisingly the hardest guys to hit against were the proverbial "crafty left handers"...

Todd
impressive! I believe you have thrown 88.
I ran a 4.7 40 in high school and they wanted me to play football. I liked baseball better.
nah, ive said i have met Griffey on multiple occasions multiple times on this board over the last 8 or 9 years... you just have the attention span of a tater tot....
i mean the fvckin guy lived a quarter mile away from me
and i have the right to do whatever i want... i mean sh!t, you do it...
oh wait, thats right... you can, i cant... you met people, i didnt... you can throw 88-90, i cant throw 85...
cards from the 90s back never gain any value really... even Mantle RC cards, they stay the same unless someone comes along with a super high graded one like a PSA 9 or 10...
Jordan cards have gone up a bit but they even stalled... during Griffeys time, his cards shot up in price, especially the 89 Upper Deck, but then tanked as they all do... and have remained around 30 dollars (as i said, high grade ones can fetch a higher price, depending on population) for quite some time now....
newer cards on the other hand, can have some decent value to them, but they are mainly relic cards, auto cards, plate cards, numbered cards, ect... regular set cards arent worth much unless they are RC cards, and even then, arent all that valuable...
and they can lose value very quickly depending on the player...
i once bought a pack of Basketball cards and got a Darius Miles RC jersey card, beckett at the time listed it at 600 dollars, Don put it up on Ebay for me and i got 450 for it....
you know why I would go fishing with evo? I don't want to fight him anymore I feel bad. but he knows a ton about nothing and it would be a fun 2 hours of just shooting the sh!t. Im sure I will feel differently tomorrow.

On one online typing platform, Brazilian Guilherme Sandrini reached a whopping typing speed of 241.82 wpm.
Sean Wrona set another record at the Ultimate Typing Championship with a speed of 256 wpm. Wrona has also unofficially beaten Blackburn’s endurance typing record by maintaining a speed of 174 wpm over a 50-minute duration. Though this record is not recognized by Guinness because it wasn’t monitored by their team.
Both of these incredible speed typers used the standard QWERTY to achieve these top speeds.
A decent typist can do 80 words per minute. Mark Kislingbury can hit more than four times that speed. He’s the fastest in the world, and getting faster. The 53-year-old Texan holds the world record for the “fastest real-time court reporter,” a standard he set in 2004 when he transcribed a staggering 360 words in one minute, with 97 percent accuracy.
yes, doesnt count, but in a way it does... because if you are typing on a Steno, and you still have to make 4-10 strokes, that the same as typing on a keyboard for the most part...
i can only do about 70 i think.... im sure if i wanted to i could get over 100....
no, my left arm is about half the length of my right...
what i actually notice in the pic, is my dick bulge
funny story...
we were jumping on the bus to Seattle a few years back, and these 2 little hotties come pulling up in a POS Cougar... asked me for a cigg, sure no problem... had this weird look on their faces, and one of them said "i like your pants", which were a sweater type material Mark Ecko suit... they were all blinking shy like and whatnot...
was like um ok...
told Katie about it, and shes like well your dick is poking out so i can see why...
to this day, she still gives me [Bleeeeep!] about it when i wear shorts or jogging pants....

Tall and lanky = speed. Todd played a bit of college ball and I played a year in rookie ball after HS. I never pitched, but I could crow hop to the plate from left without hitting the cutoff. I've thrown out my arm so many times it makes me puke just thinking about it. Now at 43, I can barely throw across the yard. Shoulder is pure junk. The one thing I can still do is run like the damned wind. Todd's seen it a time or two.
This thread explains so much about this degenerate infested sweat lodge. We have a bunch of middle aged guys who have failed at pretty much everything they attempted athletically. Fortunately, a few of us have jobs to pay our interwebz, others live in their mom's childcare center. Since Evo has lost his 85mph heater, he is turning conversation to dick measuring.......Calling Frank.......
That's an accurate assessment. Next thing you know, we'll hear about licking eyebrows and elbows.
Did you know that back in the 70's, during his Haight Ashbury hippie yoga days, Frank could self fellate? Limber like a wet dishrag. That's another true story.
I'm really good at eating pussy. I have references. Made an ex from oregon city black out. She still calls me

And yet he walked SEVEN HUNDRED NINETY SIX times to lead off an inning.

Other than the big money contracts that I believe have gotten a bit out of hand,Baseball is alive and well and is the best game there is. IMO.
Mariners seem to be doing pretty decent with this new team... its the Mariners tho, so they will probably fvck everything up in the last part of the season...

This is Baseball 101. Follow the code!
That only counts to people who give a fk about the Mariners. You guys can say you had Ichiro the Big Unit and of course the Griff. Sweetest swing in baseball. Too bad. But hey. The cubs finally beat the curse. So it's anyone's game anymore.

Re: Baseball thread - 04/10/1909:28 PM
Ok speaking of Baseball 101 the last few years I notice these announcers talking about the no no in like the 6th inning ,which is a huge no no. You never talk about it. Ever. It's the worst jinx in the game. Mike Krukow was pulling that [Bleeeeep!] with Bumgarner one night I couldn't believe it. Next inning,he gives up a single. Killed it. At least Cain got his perfect game. Loved that guy.
Those announcers should have been thrown outta the booth via the window into the crowd below. How you gonna be a professional announcer and talk about a no no like that? That's grounds for immediate termination by firing squad.
Last night's game was a perfect warning from the Baseball Gods to not test the code. Only up by 1 on the road, bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, 2 outs, shallow pop up for the butt clenching win. That was the God's warning people to STFU or else. If the Gods were in any less of a charitable mood and they had lost that game, I was already planning to drive to wherever Sol Duc is and rip out his throat with a spoon.
This was supposed to another one of the M's patented "rebuilding" years (when hasn't it been?). Tonight's game and this next series will tell us a lot. The Indians series looked great on paper at the time it was played, but they've since chit down their legs, so who knows. We shall see.
Robinson Cano gone, Mariners 13-2. Coincidence or cause and effect?
Lots of other personnel moves on both sides.
No question, but Cano was the highest paid at the time which put him in a position of leadership. His non-hustling and very relaxed attitude was something I saw other players adopt, most notably Kyle Seager. Unfortunately, in the field, Seager is not as good as Cano, and it bit him badly.

The ghost of Cano still lives on in our current 2019 outfield. Lack of hustle, lolly gaggin', grab ass play. Simple routine stuff is a complete adventure. Couple that with a mediocre bullpen and we WILL blow late inning leads later in the season. Chit, that'll probably start coming to fruition in about 1.5 hours from now. The Asstros don't mess around.
See...here I am talking M's baseball after I swear I wouldn't. Blame it on me.

At least you will have late inning leads to blow. Giants will blow them early and often if our front office doesn't start spending some of that championship $$ .
Seems that so far the M's have the hitting, but are somewhat suspect with the arm and glove. If those two come around there will be lots of wins. If not, there will be lots of scoring.....
Yeah...I'm inclined to believe our hot start was an anomaly that will fade out in typical M's fashion. We are not a disciplined team; lack another stud or two in the rotation and have sub-par defense (and that's being really nice to our D).
Verlander must get his juice from his Wife's massive milkers.

it's hilarious. Those long term contracts are a lose lose for everyone involved other than the player getting paid all that money obviously. Stanton was ridiculous.
My preferred manner for playing/watching baseball is for great defense, great pitching, and contact hitting. See 63-66 Dodgers. I agree with Nick that the inability to catch the ball and pitch very well will be the Ms undoing. Still, if that hitting can reasonably continue they will be entertaining. Their pitchers can hold no lead and their hitters can overcome any deficit.
Kinda like Coug football over the years. "We'll outscore you". Generally.

Well it is the American League, you bunch of cheating DH having scrubs.
If I was invited to see the president of the United States I’d go and be honered for the privilege. But I can respect people’s (some Red Sox) choice not to. We really do have it good here.
Bump. Been a good start for mlb. America’s pastime!
Horrible for the Giants. WTF. When your best hitter is batting 259 and you are giving up 15 runs a game ,ticket prices better start dropping. It costs 40 bucks to park. I have been waiting for this. Buh bye bandwagoners! Now we will see who the true fans are. Go Giants! Time to rebuild. And I don't care if Fat Panda can pitch I'm tired of seeing his fat ass.
One month ago, the M's were in first place in the West with a top 3 MLB record and a +45 run differential. One month later & they are in last place in the West, 11.5 games back and have a -38 run diff.
I’ll be interested to see who on the giants will be an all star given that each team gets one. I guess Will Smith? Anyways, the athletics are much better than the g’s and that makes me happy.
Big bump for baseball! Stan, Midwest, and nick couldn’t hit evos heat!

Carl Yastrzemskis grandson Mike has been hitting some homers for us lately. This Dickerson kid is really impressive. As bad as we are in the standings I have been enjoying the last couple weeks other than the shellacking the dodgers layed on us that last series.
Baseball is going great! Oakland is s half game away from the 2nd wild card and the giants still suck although they are playing better lately. It will be interesting if they trade mad bum.
Speaking of bum, fish prince is a fat faggot that was scared off by hankster lmao.

Madison Bumgarner won't be with San Francisco ,uch longer no matter how well the Giants have been playing, and Will Smith is goinmg bye bye as well. The A's ,well,no one has cared since the bash brothers and Ricky and Billy Martin.
Bummer about Bob Gibson's health. The guy was a stud horse unlike most of today's pitchers that max out at 5 or 6 innings most of the time. Always liked watching him pitch when I was a kid. SF

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that statement. I mean,The A's have sat in relative obscurity since the days Morgana used to run onto the field to kiss Eck. The days when Crazy George led the fans in the wave. The Giants have done everything right. Besides,I'll be a fan no matter what, and it can never be as bad as the Cubs. Or ,ahem, the M's

And just like that the Giants have won 11 of 13 games, been averaging 8 runs per game, and are now 3rd in the division,2 games back from Arizona, and in the running for the wild card!!! "It ain't over till its over"-Yogi Berra

The Giants are now 2nd in the NL west. 2 games back in the wild card race. Beat a good Cubs team 2 nights in a row. Wut????

Mariners traded a couple Giants throwbacks Mike Leake and Hunter Strickland for some minor leaguers. I guess you guys didn't want them either.
We got a #3 prospect shortstop and some pitching for Melancon, and a couple others. I liked Dyson he was money. Kept Madbum. Since we had the hottest July in MLB and are keeping Will Smith as well the Giants are gunning for the wild card. I think we have the tools to get there. Not sure if we have the tools to win it all but we have been hitting with power as a team and won the last 19 games in July.
Glad we kept Will Smith. He's clutch. I'm excited for August. GO GIANTS!!!

Ok. Giants are trying to garner 2000 wins for Bochy to retire on. I think it's gonna happen, couldn't happen to a better manager.

It would be nice if los Gigantes closed it out with at least a .500 season for Bochy.
Hey at least the season went from unwatchable to enjoyable. At one point there was hope for the wild card. Either way Bochy goes in the hall first ballot.

He's a shoe in for the hall. I got emotional hearing him talk on the radio this morning. I don't know if he realizes how important he is to the organization and how beloved he is to the fans. We don't win anything in 2010 2012 or 2014 without Bruce Bochy. he seemed to make all the right moves where it counted. I put Brian Sabian up there as well. Both deserve credit. I will miss hearing him say "well uhhh,we umm,got a good win today and uhhhh,Timmy had good command of his fastball and uhhh,Buster hit that 2 run shot and uhhh, that was all we needed to win grbblee grbbll..."

Were the Faders wondering what they'd do if they couldn't play their first games on a dirt infield, so they asked the A's to tag along?
Or are the A's gonna have their own ballpark?
Glad you’re rejuvenated with an undefeated 49 er team. But if A’s go to Las Vegas might as well still have the baseball infield and share the stadium
I have heard A’s to Portland for 15 years. It was A’s to Fremont but the giants cried faggot with tv rights
It really doesn't matter much if they move to Portland or Vegas.
You'll still be a fan.
Of course it'll be more of a chore for you to get to a game from where you live.
I've been to a lot of Giants games at ATT/Oracle, but I haven't been to a Niners game since they moved out of Candlestick.
North bay to Santa Clara is a lot closer than Oakland to Vegas but I understand your sentiment.

So. I despise the Braves. The tomahawk chop chant is the lamest gayest sh!t in sports. Other than Chipper Jones they can eat a d!ck. And they are 3 outs away from failure. The Cardinals aren't the best team in the playoffs, but as an organization they are consistent in competing in their division and have a great baseball culture in that town. I also loved when they beat the fodgers up a couple years back. If the Braves,Yanks, and Scrodgers all get knocked out of the post season before making it to the fall classic,I will be almost as happy as when the Giants won their championships. Not really, but those are my 3 least favorite teams ,and I want them to suffer humiliation, just for being,
So let me get this straight. The Braves and their dumb assed fans with the tomahawk chop dipshit chants were silenced today,AND the scrubs got knocked out in the first round on a grand slam from Kendrick, former dodger ,AND Kershaw blew the save??? I am going to bed a happy man. Onward and upward!! I hope the Yanks get humiliated. I thoroughly enjoyed watching all those scrub fans have their hearts broken and seeing LA and it's long suffering post season death! How many classless dodger fans have come up to me suggesting the SF championships were flukes. They are eating their words now. My friend Matt won't want to look me in the eye after this hahahahaha.

Kershaw is a mighty fine pitcher in the regular season, but he sucks ass in the postseason. 7.11 ERA this postseason and 4.43 ERA in his career.
Getting knocked out of the playoffs couldn't happen to a nicer team.
Anyways, the two best teams came out on top in the AL and the two most deserving teams come out of the NL. Really, October is the peak of sports, fuk basketball.
I think the giants and Zaidi will hire Gabe “BALCO” Kapler as your next head coach.
I think Phillies will hire old school and hire Buck Showalter or Girardi
I think the Cards Nats series will be an interesting one because neither team or fanbase thought they had what it took to win.
Meanwhile the sports pulpits with their east coast bias are busy stretching out their jaws in eager anticipation of sucking off the Yankees. It's always been that way. These days does anyone care about that franchise? I do like Aaron Judge.

baseball.....what baseball?
have you seen my baseball...?
Mr. Upton didn't pitch very well. Astros have an uphill climb.
I did just finish Edgar's autobiography. Taught foreign players to say How Bout Them Cougs. My favoite Mariner. Ms only team not to make it to the WorldSeries.
I was especially pleased to see Fat Nixon at the game, and when they put his big orange ass on the Jumbotron it lead to a stadium full of booing, and then a stadium full of "Lock Him Up!" chants...poor guy left early, probably forgot his Twitter phone in the can in the West Wing.
I laughed so hard when when they were booing that fatass imbecile. And if anyone ever deserved a "lock him up" chant, it is him for creating such a chant in the first place. Plus he probably actually deserves some jail time.
I'd rather not see childish "lock him/her up" chants in our political discourse at all but when yer such a childish POS as trump, karma's gonna get you.
Where is Enrico Pallazzo when you need him? The ump should have checked their equipment for regulation adherence. Size, shape, corked or no; too much pine tar etc...
Avid - the one is pretty damned hot. I suppose MLB players get hotter, but probably not by much. Then again, I'm a very, very thirsty mofo, so anything a step up from Janet Reno gets my attention.
Avid must run with those hot A list ho's. They looked way up firm and high to me and were a pretty nice sight on a cool Autumn evening....perky comes to mind.
On the downside, there could have been some baseball geezers having heart attacks over all that commotion.
One last bump from me. It was a great season, never bet against a hot wild card team like the 2010 giants. Until February when pitchers and catchers report, see you next year baseball.
Anyways, the two best teams came out on top in the AL and the two most deserving teams come out of the NL. Really, October is the peak of sports, fuk basketball.

For those in the know. Why would the Mariners give a AA infielder a $24 million contract when they still have club control for multiple years and the guy has never played a MLB game?
It is the Mariners though and knowing how they suck, the guy will likely be a flop. SF

The Mariners are smart. The penned that Cano deal.
You mean you weren't good enough to continue playing.
Actually I had to get an after-school job. And I went to a small school; didn't have to be all that good to make the team. Probably fortunate for me. But it was a lot of fun while it lasted.

A lot of cash based on his past injury history, but he seems to have been more durable of late.
I wonder where Rendon will land and for how much? I just read an article and they were speculating the Rangers, due to the Dodgers not going hard after big dollar free agents. They mentioned the Braves as a possibility as well. SF

Excellent question stone.
He (Rendon) is definitely not going back to the nationals because of the resigning of Strasburg. He’s a Houston guy grew up and went to college there (Rice). I suspect though, he will end up with the dodgers. Who ever gets him will get a good player but an even better person.
Who's "you guys'? Hard core? Ever seen anyone get stabbed or shot? Wanna step into my shoes? A lot of people claim to be badasses. I'm not one to ever claim that. Hard core doesn't mean anything to me. I knew a lot of hard core motherfuckers that are dead. I'll stick to having a happy, simple, peaceful life. Thanks. BTW you talk as much in person as you type? I'd be curious to know.
Astros = hand slap. Seriously? I'm going to go ahead and say ALL MLB teams would be willing to cheat for a World Series if that's the level of 'severe' punishment that MLB wants to dole out.
The Mariners will really suck for at least one more season...and then look out. They have been doing a great job of shedding dollars and stacking their farm system.
We may see some good young talent get a shot next September.
They are desperate . Yankees of the west. They will never be champions, they are scrubs, and deserve all the hate. I have inexhaustible hate for the Los Angeles Dodgers. I am laffin .

Well...maybe so...but that lineup has championship written all over it. So...
Well at least we can agree on that. The Giants are a [Bleeeeep!] show. I am not sold on new management, but i'm not keen on change anyway. I think Bochy shouldn't have retired.
grabbed a box of Donruss yesterday, got a Juan Soto autograph (200 dollar card), a Luis Arraez auto numbered to 60 (about a 150 dollar card), and some other cool stuff... starting to get back into baseball a little bit...'
also got some Yordan's, Bichette's, Zion (basketball), and a few others...
could probably sell the Ohtani auto, Soto, and Arraez for 1500-2k right now...
im gonna wait till the all star game and see where they are at for the season tho...

Giants are run by analytic nerds now. Sad
The missing ingredient is Brian Sabean. What a great baseball guy. I am probably jumping the gun, maybe Farhan is going to be good. But hiring some broad in the locker room as a coach is a publicity stunt for these feel good blow job hacks in Frisco, where you can't smoke a cigarette around town without offending someone but you can piss and [Bleeeeep!] on the street corner. There's a lot I love about San Francisco but it is equally fvcked as well.
I digress. The Giants need to quit hiring these has beens and get some good young talent. We have some in Joey Bart,Yaz,and a few others. Get 2 power bats and a hot shot starting pitcher and we are going somewhere. It's a great baseball town don't fvck this up!
Besides the obvious dogs, cats, monkeys and the like....
I've ate 25 day old Pigeon grown out back of the restaurant (which was f'in delicious btw). An entire Goose - all of it, guts included. The honor at the table was to eat it's long corkscrew pencil dick. I had no honor that day. Gutter oil street fried food that was supposed to be beef, but it wasn't beef. Ever see how they make gutter oil? The office park at work had a communal kitchen for multiple businesses. My receptionist would go grab me a tray of food for lunch each day. Came back one day with chopped up frog. Just whole little green frogs, chopped up with a cleaver and stir fried up, guts and all. The hotel had "American chips and salsa". The salsa was just plain ketchup. The absolute worse thing I've ever ate BY FAR, was jelly fish that was marinated in straight vinegar. It took every ounce and fiber of my being to not puke all over the table. Chit like that. I've been to a couple of those "wet" markets and have seen all the caged animals. Pangolins, civets, dogs, cats, monkeys, rats, guinea pigs, parrots...you name it. If it could be killed and cooked, it was on the menu. While I never consciously selected dog or cat, I know I've ate it. I ate a LOT of plain white rice and veggie stuffed dumplings. I couldn't get to the nearest airport hamburger stand fast enough upon return.
The pigeons were actually really good. I wouldn't eat their heads, necks or wings, but their regular body meat was really good. Kinda like squab or quail. They were served at 100000 degrees and you ate them with disposable plastic gloves. Just grab one and tear em' apart, Note that the guts are still inside those greasy little bassturds.
That was my official first meal in China. Welcome to China!
Fast food is no safe haven there. It's not what you think its going to be. At all. It's been changed to suit their tastes, not ours. Some of it is worse than the street foot if that's even possible. You should see the inside of Walmarts there - especially the food section. Out of all of the places I visited, the Walmart was the single most fascinating place to go just hang and watch. I spent hours in there just walking around taking in the sights and smells.
We wonder why disease happens? Because China. When this virus first broke out, I just shook my head. Of course China. Of. fvcking. course.
My saving grace was a little dumpling shop across the street from my hotel. I ate there whenever possible. Pork dumplings in plain broth. That's it, but it saved my arse.
I'll have to tell a longer restaurant story sometime - maybe later today. It was fuckin' hilariously bizarre in a good way.
I stood there and watched as thousands of baby frogs made a mad dash for the ocean and died right in front of me. It was like frog d-day, with all the frog bodies washing back and forth in the surf.
That's the worst thing that could possibly happen on lsd, besides the time I had sex with Eron Wecker the Pecker Recker.
Pretty sure the worst thing that could happen on LSD would be being on LSD in China. Holyfvckballs my head and face would melt like that Nazi at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
"Pigeons" are "Rock Dove" when they don't live in cities eating popcorn and cigarette butts...and I have shot them in soybean fields and eaten them, and they are fuckin delicious.
So my last China food story...it's long and probably not that great. But anyway...
At night after work, I had nothing to do. So I'd put on my walking shoes and head out into the city. Shenzhen was 500K people 25 years ago and it's 22 million now. Urban sprawl is an understatement. Everything is in Chinese and I had no idea where to go, so I just walked for miles and miles all over the city. Main malls and streets and into back alleys. White business men are as safe as safe can be - because anyone who messes with them are just shot. I had the run of the city...
Anyway, I walked for miles and started to get hungry for some dinner. The trick is to never eat at a place that doesn't have pictures on the menu. You have to be able to point at something that doesn't resemble the bottom of my shoe. The "good" or better places will put a menu out front of their door so you can see what they have. So I went past many, many places and couldn't find anything completely not terrifying. Finally, almost starved to death I walked up to a joint on a back alley to look at their menu. It looks about like all of the others. At that point, one of their waiters saw me looking and came running out the door to welcome me. This little fvcker literally pushed me inside. "Ok! I guess I'm eating here". It was entirely empty inside without a single other soul - not a good sign.
10 mins of horrible back and forth communication between this waiter and I...and I seriously probably looked like a tall retarded alien to him....I got a can of Pepsi & bowl of Ox tail with noodles. Ok - fine. This will do.
As I sat there, this dude literally sat at my table and intently watched me take every bite. "Oo-Boy! This is sure good" in retarded man sign language was somehow communicated. I guess fake smiling is universal. He seemed very pleased.
About the time I was full and finishing up, the waiter went in back into the kitchen for a few minutes. Upon his return, this fvcker brought his ENTIRE extended family. Like 15 people from the ancient to little babies. They all stood around me and smiled. Then the oldest guy there shouted something in Chinese and they all dashed away. Not 1 minute later, they all came back out carrying huge serving trays of every dish they could possibly make. They cleared tables save the one I was setting at. Each and every person then hand presented me one of those dishes. I was dumbfounded and already full. They all just stared at me eating food.
So....I spent the next hour trying all of these dishes and fake smiling. "Sure is good!". It was so hard not to puke from the food itself and being overly stuffed. At the end of all this nonsense, the old man gathered everyone around me and they took 1 million pics. I towered over these people. Held a damned baby. They were the nicest, warmest and most adorable people on earth.
So apparently, I was the ONLY foreigner to have visited their restaurant. The thing in China is to show others its a good, safe place to visit and eat. So I have no doubt, my tall alien looking mug is on some big poster taped to a window in Shenzhen. "Look! White man likes it! It's safe!".
This one time, half way through an acid trip on a beach in Hawaii.... Beautiful day, nice trip, suddenly it started raining. The heavy rain seemed to trigger an enormous amount of baby frogs to leave the freshwater pond that was nearby. These baby frogs, literally thousands of them, suddenly appeared on the beach. Frantically hopping around. All headed one direction. What direction you might ask? The crashing surf.
I stood there and watched as thousands of baby frogs made a mad dash for the ocean and died right in front of me. It was like frog d-day, with all the frog bodies washing back and forth in the surf.
Last time I was in Maui, we took a walk after dinner through a grassy field, we looked down and saw hundreds of purple Frogs...never seen that before.

Hmmmm.
Was in Maui back in August. I was standing on some lava rocks at the foot of the ocean. A quick rain came and went. Much like what Jaek just said, million fvcking toads came out of nowhere and made a mad hoping dash to the ocean. In the water they went. I'm sure many died. It was right on the verge of darkness, so I said "WTF?" and made my way back to the room.
Seriously strange event.
Pretty sure Bigfoot and Garden Gnomes were involved in this. I was sober and not stoned.
Dude I'm not even joking. Good body, nice pu$$,but as my mom described her to her office manager when I was 18,"uglier than sin". Yeah I wasn't even offended.
Hate to say it dwat, but sitting outside on a spring evening as the lights come on, watching a baseball game with a cold beverage sounds good about now
Memorial Day with no baseball? I just want a fuking haircut. Fuk this mask wearing sh’t.
Shave it and grow a beard. I started to shave mine last year and grew the matching beard. It's kinda badass if you ask me. Now I look like a fierce Viking warrior from the land of ice and snow, where the midnight sun and hot springs flow.
I haven't trimmed my beard since the Rona started and now I look like hammered dogshit. Wilfred Brimley porn stache and all that. It's great!

I just watched the replay of game 5,2014 NLCS. Michael Morse hit a tying run in the 8th. Giants were leading the series 3 games to 1,and in front of a home crowd, top of the 9th,Redbirds threaten the closer Casilla with a bases loaded situation,2 outs.
Jeremy Affeldt comes in on short rest to get the final out.
Bottom of the 9th. Fat Panda hits a single off Wacha. Hunter Pence flies out . Brandon belt draws a walk.
Up comes Travis Ishikawa,a Federal Way Washington Native who floundered in mediocrity with a career .250 batting average and 25 home runs, does the unthinkable and nails a line drive walk off home run to right field,to send the Giants to the 2014 world series against a scrappy KC Royals team.
Bumgarner won 2 games that series, and one save ,with a .43 ERA. He holds numerous records, including:

Mad fkn Bum. Everyone wants to suck off Verlander (who the Giants embarrassed in 2012 as they swept the Tigers' and their co called best offensive line up in baseball) and Kershaw, who couldn't win a game that counts if his life depended on it. Bumgarner. He plays for Arizona now,but nobody will care about that when he gets inducted into the hall of fame as a GIANT.
Really looking forward to a 15-45 Mariners team. SF
LOL. Classic Stoney.
You know what? After all of this craziness...I'll fuggin' take it.
Oh, I’m looking forward to watching sports again. The problem is that watching Mariners baseball and calling it a sport is a stretch most of the time. They are a pathetic [Bleeeeep!] franchise, most well know for dancing groundskeepers, sailboat races and playing the 95 highlight tape over and over... SF
I see it differently. The 2020 "champion" will forever carry an asterisk in the record books due to the shortened season. Further, the Mariners have historically given us the most hope (a relative measure, to be sure) during the first two months of the season. If they can hold off the mid-season fade just a few games longer than usual, they might just make the playoffs. From there, we're only a few miracles short of glory.
It all adds up to the perfect season for the M's to win their first (and probably last) title... Asterisks be damned.
I see it differently still. You are partially correct Flea2, the Mariners do traditionally start strong, kind of like a little kid on a hike, or a new dog on the trail, or evo on google, over exuberance from fans feeds them enough energy to get them thinking, "hey, we're not all that bad" of course other teams know differently and have generally justifiable looked right on past them up until it actually starts to matter, this season it will matter right from the start, count the Mariners out early, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Stonefish is looked back as an overly enthusiastic optimistic cheerleader with his prediction once this all plays out.
The Pink Palace will remain a 550 million dollar Monument to Mediocrity for yet another season......book it.
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Stonefish is looked back as an overly enthusiastic optimistic cheerleader with his prediction once this all plays out.
I was just giving them the benefit of doubt. I’d be more then happy to see 0-60. The Mariners.....the Norte Dame of MLB. SF

At least ND has religion to fall back on and explain away the gay. The Mariners have fried crickets and Bark in the Park and that's about it.
We are about 1 week away from everything falling apart again. I'll believe they'll play sports again when I actually see it on TV with my own eyes. Until, it is wishful thinkin'.
What are you doing with all your free time? This has actually been a pretty good year personally, work was deemed essential and has remained reasonably busy, time off has been easier to come by, so that is nice, put on so many mountain miles early on closed trails that I was in fall shape by May, snowshoe'd up to Knoble Knob on the brutally steep Deep Creek Trail, have done Norse peak, Corral Pass and everything in between, dropped back from 183 to 173, have a great garden, explored some micro zones that have been on the radar for years, picked up more sheds than I have in years in the process, haven't fished at all and I do miss that, but time away from the TV and sports and bars has been great, might be a permanent thing, should be anyway. As long as none of you bacteria/virus packing vermin infect me I expect to keep on keepin' on for the rest of the year pretty much like I have so far.
Besides full work weeks...new garden, new chickens, yardwork, house work, shrimpin', ling cod fishin', crappie fishin', steelhead fishin', turkey huntin', shootin' the bow and a couple of small get-togethers here at the house. Need to start scouting for upcoming season and do some trail work.
It's not me I'm worried about. I have plenty to keep me preoccupied.
I will be get pissy if football isn't played. Looks like I'm gonna be pissy then, because we ain't gettin' chit for sports.
Walking for me. I’ve walked over 300 miles since the stay at home orders. Not every day but usually get in 5+ on the days I walk. Trying to do a lot of hills.
Got some veggies going. Been clearing out the family household and finally got it on the market this week. Lots of stuff to go through after 67 years....
I’m digging working from home. Having a beer or two for lunch versus the normal office routine is something I wouldn’t mind doing daily until I retire in a few years. SF
Good for you dude! This whole thing really has brought a lot of new things to the forefront for a lot of folks. It's reminding people of proper work life balance and all the things we were (are) missing.
I also quit smoking and have saved a pile of cash just from that. No commuting, no extra gas, no dry cleaning or lunches out. Save 2 hours of my day just from the commute alone. There is a strong chance I'll never work in an office again and that's just fine by me.
I grew the nastiest, grossest Corona beard. Didn't touch it for 3 months - looked like somebody epoxied roadkill to my face. Just shaved it up a couple of days ago, so I look kinda like a human again. Kinda.

Tough call. That beard was fantastically gross, but you didn't look all that great without it, either. At least with the beard some chick might think there could be someone she wants to bang in there somewhere.
Yes - I quit. I've slipped up once or twice when others have had some smokes near me, but I haven't bought a cig in months. Feelz good man!
I think many Americans are starting to realize what "work" looks like in most of the EU. It's pretty damn nice. They've been telling us this for years, but Americans have had that hardworking, overtime slave wage mentality forever. Folks are waking up to what life can be like and it's great!
Micro-mangers everywhere are having existential crisis after crisis and it's a beautiful thing.

I think this is true. It took a bit of getting used to, but I was able to do about 70% of my work from home, though not as quickly or as efficiently, but if it were to become permanent I could get it up to speed by adding a few bells and whistles.
I think there will be some significant changes to the commercial real estate world...smaller and less densely populated office spaces are probably on the horizon.
That being said, Amazon has experimented with working from home, and abandoned it, for the most part...they found that a lot more work can get done with butts in seats, that's why they have so many buildings and offices everywhere.

Fish on...
Todd
I never understood Amazon's mentality on work-from-home. I turned down a couple gigs there because of that attitude.
I've been very lucky to have worked from home about 95% of the time since 2001. Just give me a laptop and and fast internet connection and away we go. I hate commuting so this works for me. I and some colleagues are more productive at home anyway.
Here's a bonus for everyone. During Covid, we've been working and paying into the economy just like before the pandemic. Hope it helps.
Big f bump. We will most likely have our first .400 hitter since ted Williams. The home run winner might break 20, the cy young winner might have an under 1.00 era. Bring it on
I have long held that MLB seasons are much too long by about 1/2. Human nature is to miss things are not always around or are rare occurrences. Human nature is to get bored of things that are too readily common and frequent. I.e. the Seahawks play one game a week, so it's "special". Reduce the number of games and make them more meaningful. Save pitchers arms. 162 games a year is just ridiculous and unwanted.
So it looks like a MLB season is going to actually happen after all.
M's first game against the Houston Cheaters this Friday night.
I knew 2020 would get worse and here it is. I'm now convinced that even a thermonuclear war wouldn't stop the M's from sucking. Like War Games (the movie), the only way for them to "win" is by not playing the game at all.
But at the end of day, I get to watch or listen to an actual sportsball game! How cool is that?
BTW - I've gotten a bit more into F1 during this whole no sports chit show. It's an interesting "sport" to learn and follow.
Best pure swing in the history of the sport (apologies to Ted and Hank). M's fans and all of baseball got to witness pure natural greatness. Stupid Cincy turf.
Why you comin' here starting chit? Get that crap outta here.
Mookie for another 12 years and $365 million? Risky deal as he'll be an old man by the end of that term. I foresee a Robinson Cano fiasco in your semi-near future. Good luck!
But yeah, get that Dodger chit outta here.
Here's my hope. The M's win tomorrow night and between Friday night and Saturday morning, the entire team comes down with Covid and they have to pull the plug on an undefeated season which comes from the expense of the Cheaters. That's the perfect scenario.
What are NBA players doing lol? There’s only so much bass fishing in Disney world. How is baseball ahead of them? Good for MLB and the player association. Keep being prima donas NBA.
Tired of this cause he’s enter race. People suck equally across the board.

Back to baseball. I am a die hard Giants fan. My whole family is. When I was a kid I idolized Ricky Henderson, and later Will Clark. That said...
The Los Angeles Dodgers have dropped 2 billion dollars on top tier baseball talent in the last few years and they can't win a championship? They can blame that one on the Astros cheating,I guess. But watching them last night ,they made frisco look like a bunch of little kids out there. Who the fk are these guys? Other than the Yazstremski kid and fat Panda, who do the Giants have???Cueto looked ok,then he didn't. It bothers me that our manager is Gabe Kapler and not Bruce Bochy, who said he had second thoughts about retiring. Now we have this chick coach who was a fkn softball player in college,WTF?? The organization is on crack.

Hiring new wave trader joe will be the giants downfall.
Kneeling is not worthy of baseball, laying down is where it's at,... there should be cots in the stands and dugouts instead of seats.
Thanks Stam for your thoughts lol.
You're too kind, while I'm not worthy, that's quite the compliment!
You Walnut! The real Stam would have scoffed at the idea that you're anywhere near his league. You ain't no Stamly good sir! You're more like a discount Paker. All pink drink and no umbrella.

Too true, the real Stam would have scoffed as he sent Sol Duc back for another round of deep psychodynamic therapy and a refill, beat Hankster like a drum, skinned you on yet another football bet..... all while banging your girlfriend.
...oh, wait.
nevermind on that last part.
Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy. I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy.

We need to do a complete, national lockdown for 3 weeks or so. Trump needs to announce it while wearing a mask. Imagine how much better things would be today if we just took our lumps back in March....
Either that, or we can stretch out the pain and economic losses over the next several years and deal with restrictions and other stuff we don't like all the while. Pretty sure that's what we'll do....

+1
Yup. Plus 2. (That's what I should have said to begin with).
I'm cancelling Elk season because of this crap and that's potentially taking real food off of my table in the middle of a pandemic. I have exactly X amount of paid days off. Be them vacation days spent hunting or dying in a hospital - it doesn't matter. So, the responsible thing is to save all of my paid days off just in case I get sick later this fall or tomorrow. I'm not rich. Every last penny counts. Wells Fargo doesn't care about Elk hunting or me...or you....at all.

Wear a mask people.
Sleeping in a hammock in your lawn is less risky than falling out of your free stand.....solid move
Bent - I'll still be in tree stands for modern Deer. Plenty of opps to fall asleep or outta trees will be had. I'm sure I'll screw something up and also hero something too. Par for the course.
Joe "Nice Swing, Bitch! Kelly is national treasure. Funniest thing I've seen on the field in a long time and my favorite video of 2020 so far. Absolute legend.
Asstros core lineup went 0-21 in this last series with the Codgers. As Orel said, it turns out that "guessing is harder than knowing".

MLB under Manfred is a complete disgrace.
Wrong. Very wrong. He got fuked because he’s a pitcher, and thus won’t get retaliated under the current rules with an universal DH. It’s a pussy move, knowing he gets impunity.
Nice swing, Bitch! You can take that opinion and stuff into that Asstros trash can because that's were it belongs.
First off and as a great starting point, don't cheat.
Second, actually punish cheaters at an acceptable level when they are caught cheating.
Third, don't break the player code and do the above so players won't feel the need to take matters into their own hands. They are baseball players and baseball players get awfuly salty and have memories that last forever. They are vindictive manchildren more or less. Shoeless Joe still gets chit and it's 100 years later.
This is on the Asstros and Manfred. Not one Asstro was suspended for any amount of time for cheating to win a world series. Not one Asstro apologized or gave anything they stole back - like a certain piece of metal. Instead they doubled down. JK got 8 games for MISSING a guy. Let that sink in.
Now you know why everyone not the Asstros is upset. Look, I know they are your team and all, but chit is ridiculous yo!
BTW - Alvie the Chipmunk is batting .148. Dregman .179. Tells you everything you need to know. Guessing is harder than knowing.
Lastly, you can just be glad this is happening during Covid with no fans. Asstros would be booed outta every stadium all year long. It would be relentless and probably dangerous in certain cities. The Cheaters are getting off extremely easy to put it mildly, so STFU and take your lumps. So wear that crown of shame with pride and learn how to dodge projectiles of all forms, because this isn't going to go away in our lifetimes.
Been a fun season. Greinke is dealing, A’s are good, stam’s beloved marines blow, Madbum lost his velo, jussiesmolt is ybd. All is right in the world.

I think the Pirates are playing .190 ball. Ouch. The giants got off to a bad start but looked solid last couple outings . Cueto looked great coming off Tommy John despite throwing 115 pitches. Struck out 8.
If the red sox and yankees can have a team full of 200+million dollar 'roided up free agents then the astros should be allowed to bang on a few thrash cans.
Another year without mariners playoff baseball. Swing and a miss.
I wonder if packer could consolidate this with the "who isn't dying" thread?
RIP
Thanks for the bump old man! Baseball and sports are alive and well, keep talking about flies and frumph.

Astros are getting worked. Karma for being cheaters, and Dusty Baker isn't high on my list ,he can get to the post season but he just can't seal the deal.

Tampa Bay has good pitching and timely hitting. They are gritty.
The Dodgers series is a no win situation for me as I loathe L.A. and the Braves may be my second least favorite team. The tomohawk chop is one of the most asinine chants in sports. At least the Yanks were eliminated.Usually I can root for a team,so I guess I'm rooting for a fkn Florida team smh.

Also Dusty almost got his kid killed on the field ,and he blew 2 games in 2002 with a team that had all the tools. Bruce Bochy was the mouthwash SF needed to clear the nasty aftertaste of miserable failure.
The Dodgers won sure, but that wasn't until the scrub Braves gave up a 3-1 lead in the series . Sure the Dodgers won it. They had plenty of help. I already hate the Dodgers with a passion. I think the Braves may have finally usurped the Yanks for the number 2 spot of my most hated mlb teams. That's fine. I hope L.A. chokes again.

I can relate. I hate those stinkin Giants myself. But it was an amazing come back with the Dodgers down 3 games to 1 and they pulled it out.
It would be poetic justice to see the Scrubs win their first since '88 only to have an asterisk by their team name. And this whole year should get an asterisk.
The DBS’ dodgers are a good team and has been 32 years since a World Series win* Congrats I guess. On to the next year! Been a weird 2020 but at least there was some baseball. Until next year stam and baseballs newest fan ondarvr.

I, too, liked it when I was a kid, guess I found that I enjoyed a bit more active activities and moved on, I do get annoyed by the never ending ongoing analyisis of sports talk when there is actually something a bit more actively interesting to report on.

But hey, I just said I enjoyed this season.
....baby steps.
Don't lie. We all know you showed up for "Pitchers and Catchers" training and were told to get lost. It was a simple misunderstanding....one that anyone could make really. Don't let it get you down.
If it helps avoid future embarrassment, Fungos are meant for batting practice only. I learned that one the very hard way. So very....hard. But I'm not complaining and neither should you.....because of more "active activities".
This is how I’d treat dwat if I ever cared to have a baseball conversation with him. His baseball IQ would go up a considerable amount just from the bits of knowledge that would rub off on him.
Watched the whole Mariners Giants opening game. A 3-0 or 5-0 lead is not a guarantee to win. Gonzales gave up 3 one run homers and didn't look that great. One was to Eva Longoria. The Giants walked in the game winning run in the bottom of the 10th.
I presume there's a few Giants fans from Cali on the darkside like Mr. Watkins.

A’s fan here, hate the Giants. Hankster and arvid were the Giants fans. They are probably ‘fishing’ the Napa River today.

Didn't the Napa river have a wine spill a couple of years ago? LOL!
Haven't seen a post from Arvid for a month or so. Hank is probably hitting the bath houses in SF.

Watched the entire thing. Pretty exciting comeback.
In four hours I will be on a porch at a cabin in the woods with a cold beer, thinking about the fishing I will be doing tomorrow...there's no TV, and no Mariners...and I'm good with that.
Good for the MLB, Coke, and Delta. Stupid fukin GA gop. Shooting their own selves.
I read recently that the GOP outperformed expectations nationally due to the increase in voting last Nov...excluding the orange asshole who the majority hated.
Counterproductive dumbasses. Like that orange asshole who could've easily won re-election had he not taken counterproductive non-action and lied and lied himself to defeat.
edit: Oh wait, this is a baseball thread. Go Dodgers.
The MLB and Coke, Delta, etc. should be mindful of their actions. Why alienate 40-50% of your customers and deliberately cut into your profit margins? Doesn’t seem like a sound business strategy to me.
But then again... Trump Guzzlers (and Trump) will still go to baseball games and drink Coke.
I am sure the marketing brains at Delta and Coca-Cola are a bit better at determining business strategies than the GQP, or you.
I did like, however, that Trump's photo op the other day included a Diet Coke bottle on his desk, poorly hidden behind his phone, after he had called for a boycott.
Cancel culture much, GQP? They've always been the worst at it.

Fair point. Maybe they assume that people such as yourself will now drink Coca Cola at twice the rate since they shoved it to those GQPers.
If I am going to drink garbage that's not good for me, I'll stick to beer and whiskey...sugary soft drinks are like drinking a nice cup of diabetes, with some cancer mixed in. I'll pass on Coke, but not because the GQP tells me to.
Well my Dodgers have the best record so far and they look like champs, but quite annoyingly, your Giants are only 2 games back.
Now in the minor league, I mean American league, them Mariners are above .500.
Fuk the giants, the two giants fans that were on here are currently playing fag in the bathhouses of SF.
My A’s are doing okay, the AL west is a race to mediocrity.
Dodgers are great at least they aren’t the Yankees.
The M's won today twice to take the series against the O's 3-1. Still have to watch out for the A's, Angels, and Astros. Not so sure about the Rangers.
Yep, life long. Arvid told me dwat has Cal Ripken Jr’s face tattooed on his inner thigh. He gets the tat adjusted at the start of every season to match Cal’s aging wrinkles.
Houston had tons of ‘black rednecks’ and are super proud of being called as such. If Toff strolled in to say he was looking out for them they’d say fuk off cracker ass bitch
The M’s are only 1 game up. Given Seattle’s history, they will probably not make the playoffs this year or probably any time soon. Hopefully this changes.
No I’m actually working this weekend as well just posting whenever I take a break. I’d rather be outside but I did get to enjoy a great afternoon/evening with the fam yesterday and a great gardening session this morning. I will be throwing some bugs tomorrow which also appears to be decent weather as well thankfully.
Between you and I? If you can get other people to do an AL west contest I’d be in. It’s going to be a close race. I think Anaheim will take it but I’d bet on the Athletics.
I am enjoying watching the Mariners, and they are winning well, and look strong...but they are a paper tiger. Sooner or later they will have a 7 game losing streak, drop to 3rd, and never sniff the playoffs for the rest of the season.

This prognosticator thinks this Mariners team will not fade out before the All-Star game. M's have a great bull pen this year. I'll call them the Grave Diggers!
Bump. It’s a long season, Dodgers came back to earth, A’s aren’t that bad, the Mariners were the unfortunate victims of a no hitter. (Almost a perfect game)
This is the week that the Mariners can either surprise me, or fulfill my prediction...3rd place now after the bullpen shitthebed, again, last night. If they lose 3 of the next 4, they will never get better than 3rd place for the rest of the season.

Todd may be a prophet. Mariners ship is going down even though they called up a couple of prospects against Cleveland.
Somebody call the Coast Guard. Need to fire the batting coach too.
...and then the damn Mariners win three in a row while I am gone fishing...still in 3rd, but back over .500, with a few games against the hapless Tigers this week coming up.

Hopes and dreams and not much else. I have been off that narcotic since the 90's. When Jr. left every thing went bye bye in a yard sale.
Fuckin Mariners...I guess that's what you get with a young, but talent laden team...massive inconsistency.
I still think the Mariners are exactly on track for what they have been doing for the last several years, which is develop a farm system, develop their own players, and start moving them up the line...this comes with big growing pains.
My prediction(s) that they will bounce around, but ultimately end up 3rd or 4th in the division, double digit games out of playoff contention, is not a condemnation of this plan, it's a recognition that this is the plan, and this is how the plan plays out.
They'll be pretty good next year, and a contender the following year, and hopefully for several years after that...but pretending that they were a good team early has created a false expectation that they should be good, when they aren't.
My next prediction is that someone will cough up a pile of good prospects for Mitch Haniger at the trade deadline, and the swap will be made...this is also exactly how this plan should go, but fans who don't know baseball will gnash their teeth at giving away our best player...but at this juncture of the rebuild, that's exactly what Haniger's role is on this team...bring the highest trade value possible, and then send him to a team that is in contention today for a bunch of their up and comers.

Fair points but you can’t rebuild forever. It will be interesting what they do if anything at the trade deadline.
They have only been in an actual rebuild for about three years, and were carrying too big of contracts to do one, mainly with Robinson Cano.
Ditching Cano was the first step in an actual rebuild, and I think they are doing it really well...just need to ignore the baseball fans that don't understand baseball personnel management for a little while longer, and then everyone will be getting what they want
Look to the Astros to see how sucking for a few years while building a farm system can work for you...the Mariners spent far too many years sucking while not building a farm system, which is the absolute worst kind of management.
Actual rebuild for 3 yrs? The last playoff team was how long ago? Maybe winning the division? 20yrs ago? Fvck off with the just give them more time bullschit.
Toff could cut and paste his last thread for every single M's season for the last 20 yrs and still be delusional
Compete and win the division every so often or gtfo is my viewpoint.

Almost Todd, almost. I think you have it backwards. The Mariners are the excellent farm team for the AAA Tacoma Rainiers. Watch the Rainiers for the next couple years for hot consistency, not the Mariners. Cheaper seats and hotdogs and beer too!

Perhaps your right, but I'm leaning towards the scouts have done their job and the coaches haven't got the results. I don't follow the M's as much as I used to but I do know a little about a pitch stick...
Great players win some games, great coaches win seasons.... Just my .02
First Mariners game for me since the Pearl Jam night July 20, 2018. Oakland came back and the Ms won it in the bottom of the 10th. Sat in the vaccinated area in center. Thanks to the As reliever who gave my wife a baseball at the bull pen. Great day and warm. Finishing it off with seafood dinner at Doc's on the Island.
In two weeks my wife flies to Oakland and I'm going to finally go summer steelheading. Yeah!
I was just watching some guy singing God Bless America on a ball game and it hit me. That's the only song that ever had the world "foam" in it. And for good reason. You don't want to hear love songs with the word "foam" in it.
"oh baby, give me that foamy twat", just doesn't have a ring to it.
Went to a San Diego game last night, I must say, petco park is beautiful! Fuk the Padres though.
Been there a few times. Not bad but wtf is with that building in left field? I prefer that SF Coke bottle. And yes, I slid down that slide while being old.
Well, the Mariners have gone and made the next moves almost impossible to do without some reservations...they're almost good enough to win a wild card spot, maybe, but probably not going to be in contention for the division title.
Do they buy another player or two and make a run for that wild card spot to break the playoff drought?
Do they stick with the plan, trade Haniger on Friday for another handful of prospects, probably giving up on making the playoffs this year, but really upping the odds of being really good starting next year, and into the foreseeable future?
With one more year of Haniger under contract, they could keep him, get one or two good players here at the deadline, give up a few of their second tier prospects (not first tier, no sir), and see if they can both make the playoffs this year, and sell Haniger for a few good prospects in the offseason, and while that would delay the end of the rebuild a little, it might not be too bad.
I was lucky enough to have Diamond Club tickets for last night's game...going down 6-0 in the first was not an auspicious start for a rookie pitcher, but that come back was pretty great, and Dylan Moore's two out grand slam to take the lead in the 8th was kind of fantastic to watch.
I think relief pitchers and starting pitchers are the du jour of teams at the trade deadline (just like any year). So hard to say about Haniger. How the Mariners have their record based on their run differential is curious.
All I think I know is Scherzer is going to SF, LA or HOU.
Last night's game was awesome. I like watching this team. I doubt they'll make the playoffs (still plenty of time to catch Marineritis and fade into obscurity), but they only seem to be getting better, so who knows?
Now that the Mariners are getting almost good, I expect to see management trading or selling off the best performing players, as is Seattle baseball tradition. Seattle is a farm team for major league baseball and has that tradition to uphold.
At the start of the season I didn't think Los Doyers needed any help. But since they can't seem to score more than 2 runs most days even with a killer lineup, we'll take the help. And wtf happened to Bellinger's bat? And how bout him sailing a throw 50 ft over 3rd baseman's head the other day. Nice touch.
If they don't shape up, friggin Los Gigantes will rule.
Mariners are being exactly as I expected...winning enough to be entertaining, but falling another game or two back in the division and wild card races every few weeks.
If they can stick to their plan, they're going to be pretty good here over the next few years, and for a while, instead of selling out for a one game wild card "playoff run" that will set them back several years.
