$30 tabs decided by a judge

$30 tabs decided by a judge - 12/01/19 08:22 AM

The voters will overturned by a judge in favor of a greedy government.

So who is running things now the people or the government?

Will you be renewing your tabs or practicing civil disobedience?

So the cat is now out of the bag, our government is not legitimate and totally corrupt, what do we do next? Or what do we not do?

Are you still distracted with football?

My car license tab is due in Feb. I'll buy them because we are a nation of laws, meaning that the rule of law is important. Just cuz Rich G. says the gov't. is illegitimate doesn't make it so. Our gov't. is legitimate as can be. That is, we have the best gov't. that money and ill-informed voters can buy, from Jenny Durkan to Donald Trump.

I may not like what the gov't. does, but that doesn't make it illegitimate. If the gubmint appeal ends up being rejected, DMV can send me a refund. I'd be cool with that.

What have you seen done with the money from raising the tabs over the past couple years?

I'll wait.....

What I find interesting is that an initiative that is deemed "misleading" to the voters can find its way on to the ballot in the first place.
Doesn't the AG put the wording of the initiative on the ballot?
You'd think they would have some type of vetting before it goes on the ballot.

I guess it is just easier to waste everyone's money fighting against what people voted to approve.
I'm sure based on Bob Ferguson's relationship with Tim Eyman he'll do a great job defending I-976.
This state is [Bleeeeep!] up.

The car tab algorithm scam was for funding ST3, not for maintaining our roads. That's what our high gas taxes & tolls are used for.

Civil disobedience Rich? Over car tabs? "Sorry my plates are expired Officer, I'm practicing my sovereign citizen right to civil disobedience over oppressive tabs". "Great!" says Officer Smith..."so anyways here's your $1,000 fine and up to 90 days in jail".

Sometimes it's just easier to play the game instead of constantly swimming upstream. Choosing which battles to pick and all that...

It's going to the same place it always goes with these big infrastructure projects. Into the pockets of legislatures and contractors. The Big Dig, Bridge to Nowhere, SoCal Rail, Seattle ST3 - they're all the same. Cost overruns are "built" into "plans" to continually milk the system. We never get our original money's worth or a project delivered on time.

They should be cut off from funding if they can't responsibly spend our money on what the tax was designed for.

Something I actually agree with Richie Gee on.

ST3 is the biggest joke imaginable, and an overwhelming majority of people in counties outside of King County agree. Don’t suck the rest of us into your $hit hole. We want nothing to do with it.

I would like everybody's take on this.

Do you feel like you are being robbed by the state?
Was the 30$ tab initiative a hoax?
I know a lot of us here are wondering where all of this money is going.

Are you tired of our state being run by a bunch of thieves?

If you grew up within the thurston to King county line you'll understand exactly what I'm talking about. This place has gone in the Shitter over the last 20 years.

I would love to see a politician in Pierce County run and promise hundreds of millions in projects. Free buses, new highways, computers for every kid, etc. When the question of how we could ever pay for it comes up, they could simply state they plan on exiting Sound transit and then initiate new taxes in the same amount to cover the new programs. I am not sure of Pierce County's share, but if it is 20% then would be about $360 million a year, each year, for the next 30 years.

Just proves my point once again, that State Wide Initiatives are a bad thing. Som moron (Eyman, etc) get's to write up a fvcked up initiative and the tree-hugging, commie, libtard, Trump-loving asshats of our state jump on the non-thinking bandwagon, and vote for it.

The voters approved ST3.

Once the voters figured out how it was being funded, they voted to shutdown the funding source. IE, Initiative 976.

WTF, people? You want your cake AND have your ice cream too?

How else was ST3 gonna get paid for? Them choo choo trains, tracks and tunnels are EXPENSIVE! Oh, and they serve the use of very few people. Well, a very few of us 206'ers. Fvck the rest of you motherfvckers in this state! Especially you 360'ers. Get your own damn choo choo train! rofl

Back on track.....well....the state voters did this to themselves. You all passed an initiative to buy something and you all passed an initiative to not fund the thing you wanted to buy. So, now it's left up to the state lawyers and judges to figure all this crap out.

In the end, no one is going to be happy because ST3 will move forward and someone is going to pay for it. And by someone, I mean us in the state...one way or the other. Like it or not.

I'm tired of our state being run by a bunch of libtards. They are not thieves. They are just very good at taking our money and spending it on sh!t....that you all voted for.

I'm neither a republican or a democrat, but I think the majority of you on this boad would have puked at the libtard sh!t I had to hear from my longtime peer/friend group while watching the Stupendous Bowl.

In their minds, there is no drug problem in Seattle. There is no crime problem in Seattle. People are homeless because of Amazon and the rich...drove up the price of owning a home and/or rent therefore all those people you see out in their tents, lined along I-5 and in the city, with needles hanging out of their arms, are simply homeless because of high rent/home prices. Billions of dollars are needed to buy more affordable homes. Trump and his kronies back the parent company that owns Komo News, so all those stores such as "Seattle is Dying" is a Republican/Trump backed "fake news" story. Seattle is great. Seattle is perfect. Never been better. Only minorities are subjected to the police and arrests these days, proving that our state and Seattle is highly racist. You are not allowed to say "wardrobe malfunction" during the half time show, because that's offensive. Kansas City Chief fans are racist for doing the tomahawk chop and chant.

I think there was more, but I tuned them out for most of the game.

BTW, this was in a million+ dollar home in NE Seattle (one of THE whitest, richest neighborhoods in Seattle), filled with white-only males and females in the late 40's on up. Love it when people talk smack when sitting in their glass houses.

I do think it's a bummer that people outside the area served by ST3 are asked to help pay for it...but to be fair, I also think it's a bummer that all the people out side of the area also suck up tax dollars from the people here in King County.

They're happy for Socialism when it's Seattle's money coming to them...but howl like a banshee when it happens the other way around.

I am in full 100% support of all the counties that take more tax dollars than they put in stepping away from the trough, but I am 1000% in support of all the Socialist red states around the country paying for their own little third world countries instead of taking tax dollars from the states that are paying their way.

They're the worst Socialists in the entire country, by far.

Fish on...
