Since the data isn't in on whether getting vaccinated prevents you from potentially spreading the virus, there's really only one very simple option.

Can you cite a reliable source for your claim? I'm asking with the best of intentions, because the only reliable information I've seen to date says the vaccines are between 90 and 95% effective at preventing infection and 100% effective at preventing severe illness among the 5-10% infected. Even if that's wrong, and it's "only" 100% effective at keeping people alive, sign me up! The only reason I fear this virus is that NOBODY knows what it's going to do to them if they get it. If we can be assured it won't kill us, we can get back to normal and treat the virus like the flu your hero was so fond of comparing it to. That's a pretty big win.

My wife has a Tupperware bin of drugs she's required to take several times per day, plus shots, that's just to stay alive another day. No drugs and she starts to decline immediately.


For a year or so I cared for her at home, preparing the IVs with cocktails of drugs. Fed her through a feeding tube, changed bandages on open and infected wounds, etc.

That sucks man. I ended up in the hospital last year due to health issues. We can all joke about it but not one of us goes through life without being affected by people getting sick or dying,and none of us are getting out of this thing alive.

My son had a reaction to a medicine a few years back. One those one in a million type things, where no one actually expects it to happen. Luckily my wife had an odd feeling and was watching him very closely. Got him in to the ER in time, but it was very scary. Had to take my Dad in one time too, due to a reaction. Considering you probably are in pretty good health and are fairly young, I wouldn't take it either.

I'm hoping I'll get bumped up to the 2B group and will be the first in line to get vaccinated.

I will say of all the shots I've had, the shingles vaccination was one mean shot. Not only did my damn truly hurt the next day, I had 24 hours of feeling like crap after both the 1st and second shots. You are like the fifth person I know that has reported similar symptoms.
No issues with it for me. My only issue is it took me nine months to finally get it due to lack of supplies.

My mom and all the residents in her care facility got their first Covid shot last weekend. No issues with anyone and one of the ladies that lives there is 104 years old.

I’m hoping to get mine soon but I think it will be awhile.

Does not cure me if I have the virus and then get the shot.
All it does is "possibly" reduce my symptoms if I should get the virus....but most people who get it are anti-symptomatic or have mild symptoms anyway.
So with all the vaccines being given....total case numbers will not go down, maybe the death rate. But it's already low. So with the case rate staying high, Dimslee will continue to shut down our businesses, our kids schools and athletics, and life as we know it. We really need a vaccine against Inslee and those who support him.

Got the first Shingles shot and a flu shot in the same arm, same
day and about an inch apart. Next day it felt like Don Cerrone had
used my left bicep/tricep as a kicking target.

I still have to get the second shingles shot, but will do so happily if
it keeps me from getting shingles. My wife had it, and it didn't look
like it was any fun at all.

I've had the same doc for over 10 years, and if she says I need the
vaccine and that it's safe for me to take, I'm damn well gonna listen to her.

My lungs are FUBAR'd from 45 years of smoking cigs, plus God only
knows how many pounds of weed during the same 45 years. If I get
Covid, it's very likely I'll end up as a statistic and spend my

The shingles shots didn't really have an affect on me, and there have only been a few shots over the years that did.

While I may able to get a covid shot in a week or so, I don't count on it being that soon, there will be a huge rush and still somewhat limited supplies.

Evo has a good reason to not get one, the other excuses listed here are just to counter a political viewpoint that someone may not agree with.

By the time most people are able to get the shot there will have been many millions around the world that have already had it. So most of the potential side effects will have been well documented.

As for shots hurting, I never noticed it until I got my flu shot this fall. First time, and my arm was sore for a couple days. I think it's the guy at Rite Aid who gave me the shot. It hurt right from the start, and I think it's because this fellow just wasn't as good at giving shots as the other nurses and medical technicians that have given me shots in the past. Giving painless shots might be an art form.
