The Colville Tribe just received and released 52 pronghorns from Nevada last week.

Fish on...

Cool. I have an acquaintance with a ranch in se WA and he has pronghorn come through regularly. It'd be cool to see them more often as they're an incredible animal. They might have the best chance with the wolves. Our Woodland caribou haven't fared so well with the explosion in wolf numbers. I'm certainly not a wolf hater just want to see some management options that don't favor state snipers.

Yippie.

Perhaps they can release some wild horses and an atomic bomb just for old times sake too.

A lot of those were shot by ranchers/farmers as they were not protected in the regs when they were released. They are now listed as no open season and have since rebounded a bit. Lots of working with the locals and, from what I've been told, they actually like having them around now. I'm also told they don't have a real big range and only hang out on a few select properties.

I guess it depends on the definition of "worth a [Bleeeeep!]." The 99 released in 2011 are up to a minimum estimate (meaning they didn't survey all areas they've seen them) of 132 as of February 2015. At least the population is increasing.

Speed Goats.

Once you hear someone call a pronghorn a speed goat, it forever sticks in your brain.

My college years were spent in S. Dakota. The antelope population was quite good.....winters there can be terrible but I don't remember a big kill off from weather or coyotes. Fences can be a problem, unlike deer which can jump over a fence, a antelope tends to go thru or under.

They are fast..........

Hope the planting, works out.

If I were hanging out with KK, I would have said "speedy goats".
