I need an opinion from you auto guys, better if you do auto body. I just had an accedent with my 2006 Nissan Frontier. Looking at the pictured do you think that they will repair the truck of total it? I'm really hoping for fixing it due to the fact I am still slightly above the current value of the truck on what I owe for it.

They can replace the outer skin on some truck beds. We had a friend drop his 5th wheel on ours and it was fixable. Don't know if a Frontier is built that way.

Stam may only show up if someone brings this thread to his attention.

You will never, never, ever find me driving another domestic vehicle again!IMHO Ford and Chevy both deseve the reputaion they gained about being "unreliable" There is reason there are still 90% of all ford still found on the roadway, the other 10% made it home.

Yeah, I'm real disappointed with that Tbird I bought from Ford. Hubby doesn't want to replace it till it dies and it won't die. 200,000 miles and no major repairs. Mostly tires and oil changes.

Oh well. \:D It still drives nice and is comfortable.

My piece of crap Ford F-150 4x4 (bought new in 1979 by my father) gave up the ghost pretty early...when I gave it to a family friend to use on his farm in Puyallup, it had 675,000 miles on the original motor...

First On Race Day!

Fish on...

No total there,

When i get to work tomorrow I'll tell you within 150.00 bucks how much that'll cost to fix. Good luck.

Give me a call if ya need anything! ;\)

I'll hide this report over here on the dark side in fact I came within 10 feet of getting a grand slam of sorts, there are kings and silvers in the salmon (q1000), of course I landed a few boot kings along with one keeper (I am tying egg flies as we speak) kept one brand new silver and did battle with a couple more dandies. Decided to go down to the mouth and get a couple of fresh winterfish, take note, the rd into the park is closed so that added about a mile to my walk, the mouth looked perfect, fish rolling, and biting...landed a hot chum on a purple jig with a sandy tail, and last but not least...okay, least, was that fresh steelie I went looking for, same jig as the chum wanted and had him pretty well plyed out, just started his slide up the gravel and one final spasm said game over for me.....jeebus christo that's a long walk out of there.

So yeah, it was worth the day off....feel better now Dan \:D

Hmmm...I was *almost* there, too...with the dropping water, and coming deluge, it seemed like a decent bet, and with the road closed it seemed that the Salmon might actually be a river I'd be willing to fish in yesterday, too...

F'n work...hardly ever gets in the way, but it sure did yesterday.

Fish on...

Remind me not to buy a Nissan. That running gear is cheap pot-metal garbage. I've seen stronger springs on a Bowflex.

Anyway, thankee for the river report Stam, duly noted.

Stam ,

Im shure would have expected a whole lot more to fix it. That just blowes me away! I looked at the resale value for the truck and it's up around 24,000 so I don't think it would be a total. That's huge load off of my mind. Any tips for when the adjuster looks at it? You are completely right on the axle pulling out of the rear of the tranny. Shoul dI make shure they replace the tranny seal? Thanks for the help!

That seal should be fine as it's made to slip...it just *slipped* a little farther than intended, if the front yoke on the driveline is okay then it's just a matter of lining up the splines, hit it with some astroglide and slip back in.

As far as adjusters go, if it's in a shop already they (the shop) should deal with all of that.... if it's not already at a shop each company is different, some you'll need the above mentioned astroglide and others, you won't.

What insurance company is it?? PLEASE don't tell me it's Farmers Insurance

if you have a fax machine there I can send you what I worked up for you to review and compare.
