Congrats to Andres Morgado of Puerto Rico on his 2008 Kasilof River King Salmon Derby victory aboard Bob's boat with this 53 lb. 7 oz. Kasilof River king salmon.
The winner, Andres Morgado (L) of the 2008 Kasilof River King Salmon Derby. The fish netted Andres a prize of $1,948.80. Piscatorial Pursuits' guest, Darren Millen, also took second place in the derby with a 49+ pound Kasilof king and also won a daily bonus prize of $500 in addition to his second place winnings of $974.80 Of course, the Kasilof Eagles were also big winners as 20% of the gross ticket sales and proceeds from the post-Derby party went to this organization.
Caught prior to the derby, this monster Kasilof king caught aboard Bob's boat in early July was big enough to have also claimed first prize in the derby. Silver salmon season is now on tap for the freshwater (Kenai & Kasilof) and of course, we continue to offer fishing trips on the salt as well for either halibut-only or multi-species combination trips. And with many guests making their plans for next season as they leave this year, prime dates for our 2009 Alaska Fishing season are starting to fill nicely. If you wish to come during a peak week, now is the time to make your plans! |
