Did Ringer to Red's yesterday, with a fair amount of wind, punctuated by hatches of PMD's and Caddis throughout the day.
Not a lot of pressure on the water yesterday, so we could pick and poke our bugs without having someone in front of us, or right our tails.

While lots of bugs were flying (Caddis) all day, the PMD's were the only patterns we hit fish on top with.

Most of the day was spent nymphing on the move, and the fish were really on the small Copper John in red, with some moderate interest in the stonefly. Water level was about 2600, so low for this time of year, and combined with light pressure we had a really good day, right from the time we put in, till about 3pm. After that, it was pretty slow on the catching front, with only 1 fish from Ump to red's.
The wind might have had something to do with that, or the marked lack of interest from the trout, either way till then it was good by any standard, with about 8-10 fish over 15'', and the rest standard Yak fare, 12-14'' rainbows.
Definately better than average day on the Yak,........... \:\)

Nice, I have been wanting to float that river for a long time. Just never pulled it off.

KK, you need to check out the Owhyee river ( AKA Oregons dirty little secret ) Thing has some mind blowing browns in it. It a tough nutt to crack but really a different type of fishery. I'll send you a few pics

Sounds good B-Run, I'd like to try that one someday.

I'll be heading for Montana at the end of July, leaving the 20th, and returning the 28th/29th. I have to be in Big Fork from the 23rd, to the 27th, and am looking to tag a day or two somewhere on my way home..................or on my way over.
