Cats out of the bag now boyz.
I s'pect it's because the Skok is regarded as a bottom of the barrel fishery filled with Slack-jawed Snaggin local yokuls yarding in fish backwards... Not nearly as "postable" as a premier fishery on the OP or in BC...

am I getting warm? thumbs

Come on now, post up some pics of you standing shoulder to shoulder hucking eggs amongst the snaggeria. smile

I DID fish the Carbon for the first time ever in my life on Monday. I'll spare the other board members who were up there.

All I can say is: Wow. Some real winners up on that river. Actually, most of the people that could afford waders, and actually waded to the other side of the river and fished with us, were Ok. There was a family/group of Russians on the dyke side of the river that were complete asshats. They truly needed to have their rods taken away, smashed in half, and tossed in the river. Every single damn one of them were just complete fraktards, and fraked up the fishing for about 30 people on the other side of the river.

Honestly, the Carbon makes the Skok look like a peaceful Alaskan Wilderness Experience.

We'll get you out there one of these days Mr. High and Mighty. elite asshat laugh laugh

I think Sol just grabbed what he could find on the beach and stuck it in the fishes mouth, so no one could see the secret lure.

Sol, that looks like a 12 foot leader, and a a double hook set up. That second hook sets you apart from the rest of the group. lol

That's a typical egg side drifting rig. Leader length on those is anywhere from 4-6'. Sometimes, when the fish hits the eggs on the top hook, it will either miss, spit out, or just come lose, and the trailing hooks hits the fish.

Looks to me like he nailed himself a nice king using eggs with a side drifting rig.

The only thing that I do *not* know if that's a technically "legal" setup for the Skok. There's a non-buyoancy restriction, but not a selective gear restriction.

I believe (it's been discussed before) that these side drifting rigs are legal, or at least not frowned upon, as bait is being used.

I dunno, as I hate double hook drifting setups. Personally, I don't see the need to waste a good hook and cheater when a single hook is all you need. wink

I still don't see the need to waste a bad, mediocre, *or* "good" hook. I guess I just don't feel handicapped with my fishing abilities to *need* two hooks to get the job done.

Probably explains why you monkeys are using multiple hooks. smile

Unless it's a RVRFSH hook. In that case, you'd better find a way to use at least 4 of them per rig. Right Todd?
