Wednesday fisheries (02/13)

Conditions:

Smelt remain in the Cowlitz and Lewis, but at low levels. Catches are dominate to fish that have been in the tributaries for a while, although some fresh "green" females continue to show in the lower Cowlitz. The Cowlitz dropped to 40 degrees by this morning. There are still indications that fresh smelt remain in the Columbia off the mouth of the Cowlitz.

Catches:

Cowlitz River:
Sport - Limits were hard to come by. Catches ranged from 0-1 smelt per dip at Gearhart ramp, 0-4 in the Kelso to carnival market area and 0-1 in the Rocky Point to Lexington area.

Commercial - No reported landings

Lewis River
Sport - Very slow. At least two hours to limit at best.

Commercial - 3,100 pounds landed Tuesday night.

Columbia River:
Commercial - No reported landings.

Sport Seasons/Regulations:

All tributary waters are open Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays, 6am - 10pm through March 31st. There is a 10 lb daily limit in effect.
