moses lake was slow this morning. slower than sugar-maple sap in winter. i couldn’t beg, borrow, or steal a bite from either walleye or perch. at least two other boats had the same problem, as did a fellow plunking from the I-90 bridge for perch. same for some folks at one of the lake outlets. surface water temperature was 73 degrees.

the lake appears to be 30 feet or so deep south of I-90, and 25 feet or less north of the freeway. i doubt that a thermocline would develop in water that shallow. does anyone think that the “warm” water is making fish lethargic??
