Recent Gallup polling showed Obama with a 49 percent job approval rating among Hispanics, compared with about 60 percent in the beginning of 2011. Hispanic voters could prove pivotal next year, especially in fast-growing and contested states such as Florida, New Mexico, Nevada and Colorado.

It's really a contest on who promises the most free stuff......and there is no comparison on the "promises".
Problem with that is.......we are spending what we don't have.....pretend that is not a problem. Amazing the willingness to become so dependant. I thought we were great because of our INdependance.....seems I was/am wrong. Corruption and greed are not just a factor of the rich.

A sizable majority — more than 7 in 10 — believe the country is headed in the wrong direction and, in a new high, 43 percent describe the nation’s economy as “very poor,” according to a new Associated Press-GfK poll. Among those surveyed, less than 40 percent say Obama’s proposed remedies for high unemployment would increase jobs significantly.

Well Dave, the RCP average approval for congress is currently 12.8%. Bear in mind, the Senate is controlled by Dems... In the debt ceiling battle, Reid polled lower than Boehner.. In a survey of 1,007 adults conducted July 27, 41 percent of respondents approved of Obama’s handling of the crisis. Boehner is 10 points behind with a 31 percent approval rating, and opinions of Reid bottom out with only 23 percent approval. Gallup notes that more Americans had opinions about Obama’s actions, and that he loses some of his advantage when “no opinion” votes are factored out: He gets 44 percent approval and 45 percent disapproval, compared with 39 percent approval and 61 percent disapproval for Boehner, and 31 percent approval and 69 percent disapproval for Reid.

Yeah, those danged ol' Democrats blocking everything with filibusters and such....
And the republicans still have not produced any serious legislature aimed at creating jobs.

Yeah, those danged ol' Democrats coming up with POS legislation that begs for blockage. And the democrats still have not produced any SERIOUS legislation aimed at creating jobs in the private sector.

Because the Senate republicans don't have the balls to even debate legislation, they should just block it? There's some solid ethics, right there.
And unemployment insurance does have more potential to create jobs than does the corporate tax breaks the republicans keep blathering about.

Great line Dave! I also notice that pesky little problem keeps coming up with the Republican legislation that includes tax breaks for all those "job creators", yeah lets shovel more money up stairs and see what falls through the cracks!!!!! Fishy

What I can and do see is there's bad news for Dems.. The voters were angry in '06 and there was bad news for the GOP. More anger and more bad news for the GOP in '08 when the economy and the war sucked. No change in the economy in '10 and more angered voters brought on mucho bad news for Dems. Same or worse economy now will present Dems with still more bad news in '12. Even if Obama pulls it off and wins the election, he'll be dealing with McConnell as Senate Majority Leader and Boehner retaining his position as Speaker of the House, two heartbeats from the presidency.

...McConnell as Senate Majority Leader and Boehner retaining his position as Speaker of the House... That's bad news for America. We'll be known as the United Corporation of America. And Hank will lead the chant: UCA! UCA! UCA! By the way,Labor Department data show that only a tiny percentage of companies that experience large layoffs cite government regulation as the reason. Since Barack Obama took office, just two-tenths of 1 percent of layoffs have been due to government regulation, the data show. House republicans still will not draft meaningful legislation to stimulate job growth. But they've got more of those pesky regulations in their sights.
