So how many of you market experts have gotten rich based on your indepth knowledge ofwhat the market will or won't do next. Takes a lot of money to make a lot of money.....unless you are one of the Chosen Few who buys something like Microsoft when they initially opened, bought a few thousand dollars worth, and now are one the Forbes 500 "Richest People in the World" list. But, if you can qualify "rich" as beating the market and the S&P500 over the last 5 years, then yes. Join or form an investment club. Learn aout investing and it will and should pay off. Invest smart, invest for the long-term, and pay attention to the world around you, one will probably end up OK by tinkering around in the market. PS. I no longer (and haven't for a while) thought the market was/is going to crash, let alone drop down to the 5-6,000 range. You gotta admit though, it DID drop down to 6,800 which was pretty damn close to my prediction a couple of years ago. Never said it wasn't going to rebound quickly, did I? Funny thing is, I was afraid of what the market would do this year and put about 75% of my 401K into a stable value fund earlier this year, which has as of today, outperformed all the high risk and international mutual fund options I could have chosen by 2%. I wish I could pull it all out and put it into commodities.

As resiliant as the market has been in the past few weeks my guess is it will close above 13,000 on New year's day. Do I have enough faith in that prediction to invest more - hell no. But I have done pretty well with several of my picks this year, including Apple and Amazon. I just wish I had bought a lot more Ford when it was $1.75 a share.

Bastard. I tried calling DanS, but LoLonada at the 1-900 number he gave me was the only person to ever answer the phone. All she wanted to talk about was something about petting kitties and touching roosters.....and something about $10 and a Craigslist add. Years ago, I learned from Sol that there's NO SUCH THING as a good $10 investment let alone any add off of Craigslist! Didn't call me either, f'n paker...............keepin' all the inside info to himself. I tried calling KK too, but all I got was a recording of a goat...... At that point, I gave up and didn't even bother trying to call up Vedder. Sorry, Dave.

Parker, My crystal ball says the smoke is going to clear, mirrors crack, and the market is gonna take a nosedive here in the near future, as in before the end of November. What does yours say?

Buy Silver. American Silver Eagle - 1 oz. silver bullion coins 11/10/2011 $37.46
A while ago I read on here, someone saying in the future a Big Mack could cost $80 or $800 . Right now you can get 10 Big Macks for an ounce of Silver. I expect that in the future, an ounce of Silver will still get you 10 Big Macs regardless of weather they are $80 or $800.
