"I would be tempted to vote for Ron Paul just to see an end to the wars "
Can't believe I read that. If Mr. Paul was divine perhaps he could end
wars, otherwise, forget it.
You don't want or are not willing to fight, don't, roll over tits up and
some entity will surely stomp your derriere.

I guess I need to spell everything out in minute detail for people like you but then again, my time would probably be better spent explaining the mechanics of an internal combustion engine to my dog.

http://www.ronpaul2012.com/the-issues/national-defense/

As an Air Force veteran, Ron Paul believes national defense is the single most important responsibility the Constitution entrusts to the federal government.

In Congress, Ron Paul voted to authorize military force to hunt down Osama bin Laden and authored legislation to specifically target terrorist leaders and bring them to justice.

Today, however, hundreds of thousands of our fighting men and women have been stretched thin all across the globe in over 135 countries – often without a clear mission, any sense of what defines victory, or the knowledge of when they’ll be permanently reunited with their families.

Acting as the world’s policeman and nation-building weakens our country, puts our troops in harm’s way, and sends precious resources to other nations in the midst of an historic economic crisis.

Taxpayers are forced to spend billions of dollars each year to protect the borders of other countries, while Washington refuses to deal with our own border security needs.

Congress has been rendered virtually irrelevant in foreign policy decisions and regularly cedes authority to an executive branch that refuses to be held accountable for its actions.

NO argument with your service and most of the last post. But he who can end war, a human game, doesn't live in this or any other country at present.
Save your insults for those that might be tittilated by them.
I put my time in near Pusan, Inchon and Cho Ji Do. Not to mention Tourane,
Indo-China.
Hurrah for all vets. Hope the current skirmish guys get a break, but I
wouldn't depend on it.
I remember the last Great Generation guy that ran for president.
Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas to you.
Sayanara.

I like this from Kevin Williamson:

“I simply do not know where the money is, or why the accounts have not been reconciled to date.” Let’s translate that Jon Corzine quote into Latin, engrave it in stone, and make it the official motto of Congress. Anybody remember that this Wall Street Democrat used to sit on the Senate committees on banking and the budget?

Question: Why should we believe that the motives of people in (cough, cough) “public service” are different from the motives of people in the for-profit sector? Was Jon Corzine a rapacious self-seeker at Goldman Sachs, then a public-spirited man when he was in the Senate and in New Jersey’s governorship, only to revert to form when he went to MF Global? If you doubt that this is true, and suspect that Jon Corzine was the same guy all along, why would you want to give government more power?"

It apparently is not a mind bender for some to preach that "greed is good", and then be surprised when people act...greedy.

Bad news for the Dems? Given the dysfunctional state of our politicians today I think it is really bad news for all of us.

The Dems haven't passed a budget in a mind-boggling 960 days. Just thought I'd let you know.

What the Dems pass is copious amounts of green house gas, Federal
flatulence.

I'm an American, and I fear the size of the Government...especially the growth in police state agencies, like the Homeland Security Administration, the TSA, and legislation like the Patriot Act, and the new one allowing the indefinite detention of American citizens, with no charges being filed, if members of that big government that we should all fear decides that they are "terrorists".

I plan to retire in just a few years. Just how is cutting SS payroll tax a good thing for America, given all the problems with funding SS?

Americans fear big goverment - yeah unless making goverment smaller affects them personally. Lets look at our Tea Party friends. Their Tea Party leader, Paul Ryan, comes up with a plan to shrink medicare (one of the largest goverment programs) by giving all the old folks vouchers and low and behold 78% of them think that is a bad idea and send him into hiding.
