Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska will announce today that he is retiring after two terms, a serious blow to Democratic efforts to hold onto their majority in the chamber next November.
Nelson is scheduled to hold a press conference back home in Nebraska as early as today to make his decision official, said several Democratic insiders close to the leadership.

47% and trending upward Hank. If the Retardicans continue to play politics like they have over the last couple of months... expect to see that number in the high 50's by next summer. Once America gets an "inside look" at which Republitard will be runnin' against Obama... courtesy of the well-funded Democratic super PAC's... they could even top 60%.

What about the bad news that his approval ratings are up, the economy is on the ups, and unemployment is dropping?
Fish on...
Todd So, my house was just foreclosed on, lost my job, and ran out of unemployment. I don't count as far as the statistics go. BUT, my neighbor let me mow his yard for $10. I guess I should look at that as being an economic upturn....? None of this was my fault so any of you feeling generous can PM me for my address and send my some $..?

Just because the R's don't have a decent candidate doesn't mean the D's have any answers to our problems.

He's like the stock market: one day up and one day down. 46.2 today.

With all the selfless people on this board I was expecting many to PM me and share in their bounty.
Is it all just talk or do any of you actually walk the walk? Or, is it the gubmint that needs to redistribute your money?
I thought about giving up smoking and drinking, maybe getting a less expensive cell phone plan, but I can still afford those things myself and use my EBT card for a big gulp and a couple hot dogs when I'm hungry.

No whining here. Just asking my fishing brothers for a bit of help. Todd, if you can, please point out where my comments constitute whining or even complaining. Also, if you can find anywhere about my party affiliation, please post that as it would be very informative. Do you have a problem with people walking down the center of the politcal aisle? Or, do you consider most people as either the 10% on the very far right or very far left? If they're not on the frindges of either side, they must be......?
Glenn Beck and Rush are as big of idiots as Chris Matthews and Olberman. None of them speak for me.
To think any of the R's right now can beat Obama is a fool's dream. He'll raise more money than anyone else and will win the election. Not to mention there isn't an R worth wasting ink on a ballot.
Todd, you were exempt from my request as you did give me a bag of spoons a few years back at HMSP and that was very generous. Still using them and still catching fish on 'em.

I don't have to talk down to others to feel better about myself (oops, guess I just did)..... 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, ............................

Economists give Obama mediocre marks "Half of the 36 economists who responded to the Dec. 14-20 AP survey rated Obama's economic policies 'fair,' " reported the wire service. "And 13 called them 'poor.' Just five of the economists gave the president 'good' marks. None rated him as 'excellent.' " Others say the president tried to do too much, especially by pushing early for legislation to overhaul the nation's health care system instead of focusing on policies to promote growth and create jobs. "Health care reform wasn't necessarily the most important thing to be dealing with when you're in the midst of the worst recession since the Great Depression," said Joel Naroff, president of Naroff Economics.

Americans See Views of GOP Candidates Closer to Their Own Overall, 42% of Americans in the Dec. 15-18 poll describe themselves as very conservative or conservative, 19% as very liberal or liberal, and 37% as moderate. Looks as though you libtards are outnumbered...it's time to circle the wagons
