Bad news for Fawksfans..

The Niners today signed OLB Ahmad Brooks to a six year contract which keeps the Niner front 7 intact for the future. The Niner LBs had 25 sacks between them last year (Brooks had 7 of those) and it gets even worse for opposing offenses next year...Aldon (14 sacks) Smith will be starting and he'll be an every-down OLB.

1st game of the season, Willis played and Leastmode had 13 carries for 33 yds. 2nd time the Fawks-Niners played, Willis was out and Leasty had 21 carries for 107 yds...Fawks still lost.

SF would get STUFFED by any AFC team, they couldnt even beat the best NFC team this year, wich means, your just a second rate wannabe... they won 1 division title in how many years? and the team is now a powerhouse?

Seattle won what was it, 5 division titles in a row? why didnt we get any respect from ANYONE... it was all the NFC West is weak weak weak, blah blah blah, SF wins it 1 year and its all the NFC West is now a force to be reconed with...

I've been a Niner fan since '63 and I've been on the bandwagon all of the years since then. 5 for 5 in the Super Bowl makes it that much better.

In the regular season, they did beat the best NFC team (plus the Lions and the Taints) and came within a couple of plays of beating them again and going to the SB. They would have beaten the Pats team that played in the SB...easily. The Niner D gave up a league-low 229 points and they'll be better this year.

The Fawks did win those division championships, but do you know why they get no respect from ANYONE? They're 8-11 in playoff games, 0-1 in the Big Show and they have an overall lifetime 269-295 record. Their last playoff season came with the first-ever playoff appearance by a team with a losing record. They couldn't even score a TD against the Browns last year. Laffin'.

I'll admit they're getting better, but if they make it to 10-6, I'll be surprised. Thoughts of them going to the playoffs this year are beyond the realm of possibility.
