Why do so many people hate California?

There’s some good news for California — at least if you’re a female Democrat. Women were less likely than men to rate California as unfavorable, and there was a massive partisan gap. Democrats love California; Republicans can’t stand it. The opposite is true of Texas.

I love California.

I don't hate the land of fruit and nuts. Although I did go there one time and didn't care for it. I see it has a purpose as an insane asylum to contain the barbarian horde but unfortunately some have escaped. I don't mind Californians who come up for a visit and then go back, but those damn-Californians who come up and stay are quite a nuisance.

The reason people hate California is those damn-Californian ambassadors you sent out. But these haters are short-sighted, that is a reason to hate damn-Californians. I respect real Californians that accepted their lot in life and stayed loyal to their place of birth, toughed it out and stayed like a real man. So, I love Californians and California, as long as they keep living down there and I don't ever go there.

You know what is really funny about threads like this? Damn-Californians insulting California trying to pass as locals.

I love California and Californians. Some of those barbie dolls had this illusion we were a bunch of rich athletes. Playing soccer for peanuts had it's advantages;) Arco Arena, what a f'n dump! Cross the border into AZ and the IQ seemed to go up a bit.

the best part about California is knowing that mother nature will earthquake that place into the pacific!

I've spent a lot of time in California/Los Angeles lately and it's been fun but not a place I'd live. The northern half of the state from the Sac Valley up is more my speed.

I'm a study of other people and what makes them tick, and I've found the LA area is full of nutty, pretentious people where it seems no one really trusts each other because everyone thinks everyone else only cares about themselves. That's my take on the people there for the most part.

Having lived for several years in CA, Californians really "talk up" their state....

Fishing wasn't that great, the skiing certainly wasn't either, the surf was however, and the women weren't any better than what we have up here

Sometimes people forget that California is a real big place that isn't all cities and asphalt. The east side of the state, in particular the Sierra and places like Yosemite, Tuolumne, the Whitney portal, etc. are among the most beautiful places in our country. For most of the year they are sparsely populated and provide many options for adventure from peak bagging to fishing alpine lakes and brooks for trout. I spent many a fall road trip wandering around the hills down that way. Miss those days for sure.

Pretty hard to generalize about an entire state.

On this, you are wrong. I mean California does suck hard but that is no reason to make up facts. The quality of women here is laughable! Here, there is maybe one hot woman by Californian standards per hundred mediocre chicks, and that woman is usually one of the many spoiled gold digging hos Bellevue cranks out.

A Seattle 10 would only be a So-Cal 6 or 7. In Seattle most girls are fatter, uglier, bitchier, cut their hair shorter, are less likely to shave their armpits and legs or even wear make-up. I think it has something to do with the dreary weather causing them not to get as much exercise as well as less competition from other hot girls in bikinis on beaches. It's not just the weather though, because if you go to Europe where it is just as cold and dreary, the girls there still try and look and dress nice---you don't see chicks hanging out in old ripped up flannel shirts and stained sweat pants.

The girl competition is so bad in Seattle that any Seattle girl who is even OK looking pretends that they're the hottest thing since sliced bread but in California you would never even look twice at these chicks. There is nothing worse than a group of ugly fatties thinking they are hot. Because of this self-esteem gap, an acceptable looking California girl is much more likely than a Seattle girl to do a guy like me in a filthy bathroom stall in the back of a seedy bar.

However the California girls are not a reason to ever go there, they are best experienced at a Vegas strip club grinding away on your crotch. I love California girls, as long as they stay down in California and keep dropping their panties to the floor rather than taking them off one leg at a time.

Mostly talking about NorCal since I spent several years there, and with high hopes going into Cali, I was let down... Maybe my perception stems from being in a different demographic than you are (age wise), but the talent here (greater Seattle area, not just downtown) is underrated....

So Cal there certainly are plenty of lookers, but like most LA/Orange County folk, most of em are just good for staring...

It's simply a numbers game. If 1 chick in 100 is worth looking at, then you'll find way more of them when you draw from a population of 37 million than you will from 7 million.

Add to that, that California weather tends to lead to less clothes being worn, and that leads to more fit and tan things being seen than pale and pasty things being seen.

There are exceptions, but I'm afraid that's the rule.
