I just hope Manning goes to Houston. Then we have a shot at getting Schaub. I'd gladly give up our first round pick for an established franchised quarterback who isn't going to be turning 36 shortly.

Schaub is turning 31 and recovering from an injury himself... will he even make it in the NFL to Peytons age? who knows... but hes deffinately no Peyton ...

Hank, the niners last season was a fluke, mark my words...

bringing Manning here is a major plus on alot of levels, Allen has deep pockets, and money isnt an issue, especially for a guy that can pick apart a defense as well as Manning can... how many QBs can score in 30 seconds? only a couple... and one is Manning... plus, with him, we could draft and OL at 12, and maybe a second one in the second round.... or even Moore or Tannehil, unless we make a trade to get RG3, which likely wont happen, but could you imagine what would become of RG3 playing under Manning, or even Tannehill, or Moore?

I think if you leave the emotions out of it and make it more of a business choice. Manning is not the right direction for a team to waste their money on when they are building for the future. How many QBs have won a superbowl at Manning's age? Must be a lot with all the superbowls there has been and all the great QBs. Well there has only been one, so if you use football history at all then taking Manning would not be a good choice.

over our QBs now, who would you rather have?

using football history in this is moot, because there was not, and will never be another Manning... out of all the legendary QBs that went to another team their final seasons, only 1 did well, and wasnt even that great... that was Montana, with a17-8 record with the Cheifs... Unitas didnt fare well, neither did Namath, Warner on the other hand, did alot better, but he also played like 5 years there...

Manning may be a band aid, and a damn good one at that, but the after effects would be 10 times greater... how many NFL Qbs have had the greatest QB in history likely, teach them the hows and whats of the game?

answer: None

i still say get him, we would crush the West , and any Niner fan that thinks otherwise, well, wait till the playoffs wink

here is why it is an AWESOME decision to grab Peyton.

GUARANTEED SELL OUTS

Every game. Tons of merchandise sold. Media FRENZY. Mass commercials...the list is huge.

That in my mind is exactly why you grab him now and get a uniform on his [Bleeeeep!] and start promoting. He is only going to give you 1, maybe 2 years.

In those 1-2 years you will make more $$$$$$ off him than ANY other QB available.

Hands down.

That ... is the business decision and I hope the Fish make it. They will be in the playoffs with him if they do as they have an O line to protect him.

My guess is he is just pissed off enough that throwing for a few records is on his mind.

Lets rock.

Manning does not push us over the top in the west. He can't block, throw and catch all by himself. The Hawks have had to patch work their line for more than last season, the #1 receiver hasn't played a complete season in over 3 years, the TE last season was a non-factor. Manning in the last 6 seasons has had a Solid #1, #2 WR, solid TE and solid line. All those things we lack in Seattle at this time.
As far as mentoring goes, how did Montana's, Unitas's, Namath's, Bradshaw's replacement do the next season? Actually if Manning is such a good mentor how come none of the Colt's back ups over the last 12 years or so go one to other teams and have pro bowl years? How was Painter's stats last year?

Well maybe Paul Allen is thinking that but I am sure Petey is thinking about winning games.

I guess we can debate it but he doesn't end up in Seattle, which in my opinion is the smart football move for the Hawks.

The smart move for #18 is to go to the Jets or Texans.Good luck,

Why would the Texans want an injury riddled Manning, when they have a pro bowl QB on their roster?

Everbody has a guess but the Redskins have reportedly been told to not bother offering. Texans don't need him and the minute he leaves the division they are the favorite there.

My dark horse that no one has mentioned at all is the Baltimore Ravens. They are a playoff caliber team right now with a solid defense, a solid running game, in need of receiving help (Reggie Wayne) and they have a very sharp GM in Ozzie Newsome that just might lay in the weeds and quietly make this deal.

Miami could be it.

Houston would almost be a guaranteed trip to the SB or at least deep into the playoffs.

Supposedly their are 12 teams making a play....it will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

i'm wondering how well PM would work with any other team. this guy had complete control of everything on the offensive side in indy. there are not alot of offensive coaches that willing to hand over the play card to him and say here you go.

PM also had recievers who had great passing route chemistry with him. putting PM in with odd recievers may not work nearly as well as before.

a good example might be taking a formula1 car and putting it on the yakima 1/4 mile speedway.

anyways i am not seeing PM coming west. his whiney brother refused to go to san diego if they pursued drafting him. not sure the reason for sure but thought it had something to do with family and east coast preference.

Manning is visiting Denver today.

"A Denver Post report says Manning wants to make a decision by Tuesday, and that he also plans to visit the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins. Getting a deal done so quickly would limit the number of trips Manning could realistically make before signing. That timetable and list of teams suggests Manning has no plans to visit Seattle or other teams expressing interest."
