A Vallejo woman and two San Francisco teenage girls embarked on a series of cell-phone robberies Tuesday in the Richmond and Sunset districts, including one in which they tried to hit a woman with a rain boot, police said.

Myeshia Woodward, 23, and the girls, ages 16 and 17, first grabbed a cell phone from a 12-year-old girl in a store on the 600 block of Clement Street around 4:45 p.m., police said. Half an hour later, they allegedly stole another cell phone from a 38-year-old woman walking at 23rd Avenue and Cabrillo Street.

At about 5:30 p.m., they approached a 21-year-old woman walking at 29th and Lincoln avenues, said police spokesman Sgt. Daryl Fong. As one of the thieves grabbed her cell phone, another swung at her with a rain boot. She missed.

The thieves victimized three more people before being arrested later Tuesday night at Haight and Fillmore streets on suspicion of robbery and grand theft, Fong said. The names of the juveniles have not been released.
