Do you really...really...compare the exercise of Constitutional rights to the "victims", those who are so victimized by needing to navigate tougher traffic in a very small area of downtown?

If so, you need to take some history classes, probably a few civics primers wouldn't hurt, either...

I'm talking about McShwinn's directive to the Seattle PD that all weapons be seized. The police took mostly sticks and broom handles, but he made no distinction about not takinging legally owned firearms upon one's person. Thankfully, concealed means concealed.

Section 1 (A) A restricted area is imposed in the portion of the City defined at present as bounded approximately on the East by Interstate 5, on the South by Yesler Way, on the West by Puget Sound and on the North by Denny Way.

Section 1 (B) Within this zone, all persons are prohibited from possessing, transporting, or transferring any weapon. Additionally, law enforcement shall have the authority to confiscate any weapon or implement reasonably perceived or believed to be capable of being used as a weapon, including tire-irons, clubs, metal signs, unusually heavy-duty pieces of lumber such as bats or 2x4 inch boards and other objects that can be used to inflict bodily harm or damage to property.

Section 1 (D) This order shall not apply to the weapons lawfully kept on business or residential premises.

He did make the distincting that this did not apply to weapons kept at businesses or residences.

What a proud day for Seattle.

Anxious to kick off the May Day events, the ruffians down here in my little corner of the world gathered in Dolores Park the night before. They decided they couldn't wait for the fun ahead and formed a group to run through the Mission District and trash the small businesses there; the very same small businesses that employ the "99%".

Not able to assemble a force large enough to stop them, the S.F.P.D. instead sent traffic control officers to drive ahead and behind the destructive mob to ensure they didn't step into traffic and hurt themselves.

Mission District businesses that need to repair 100s of thousands of dollars in damage are, understandably, wanting answers.

Some tires were slashed so there would have been knives involved.

They seem to be helping the local merchants, glass and tire companies. They must be Republicans.

No, no, no...rich people who get tax breaks are the job creators...if you want a $3/hr job in India or China, at least.

Michele Bachman would have done away with the minimum wage, so we could have worked for $.10 an hour like other third world country's just like the GOP would like us to be.

You don't have to wait for Lady Bachmann to do that. Clinton signed NAFTA and opened up Mexico for the car companies; you could scoot down there and make $1.35 an hour.

No [Bleeeeep!]! I'm down. Orange spray paint the punks, take em' down mma style , arrest and prosecute. The police were week, once again. They knew it was coming, yet were un prepared to stop violence. 8 arrests, way to go. Every citizen has the right to peaceful protest, not the right to damage/destroy property even if they're opposed to that business and what they think is wrong with its ideals. Next year , may 1st is opening day, any anarchist seen damaging anything, fair game , hatchery or wild, no limit!! Time for some vigalante justice of the righteous kind.
