So my brother bought a hotel, dive shop in the mexican caribbean, wants me to show up! LOL

My date is May 31st all should be done at work.

Spent pretty much every waking hour of my life w/my brother, except his 4 year stint in the Navy. Let out of the Navy he came to SF where I was - not home to HI w/our family - soon rented the apartment above me. Me not adventerous but easily swayed by him. Rather move home to HI not the Mexican Caribbean, maybe even just rather stay put - here in the great PNW. Especially since my folks are here & sick & old. Gosh life so sucks but my brother always has a way of making it interesting.

Stay close to your folks as long as they're alive; that's a decision you'll never regret. The Mexican Caribbean and your brother will still be there when it's time for you to go.

You must be the oldest child.
Overly responsible, over-achiever, etc.

Hank's advice is heartfelt and well-meant, but only you can decide when it's time to say, "Enough is enough."

Maybe you can give yourself permission to take a break and relax a bit?

Good Luck with whatever you decide.

When my Mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer in early '98, I drove from Sacramento to Calistoga every weekend and stayed with her. When she got worse, I quit my job and got another that was closer to her. I was with her in the hospital when she took her last breath in December '99. She gave up a lot for me in her life and I would have felt like sh!t if I wasn't there for her. Same goes for my Dad. I didn't go on a lot of fishing trips when he started to fail. Looking back, I don't regret one minute of the time I spent with and for them.

Do what you want; I did what was right for me and what I felt was right for my folks.

I expected nothing less from you, Abby. You're just a self-centered little punk kid that thinks it's all about you.

[Bleeeeep!] off you miserable little prick.

Abby goes to Hawaii and gets laid for the first time in his life and thinks he's got it made. You don't have any concept of being a man and taking care of responsibilities in life. You think if you don't do something right now, you'll never get the chance to do it again. Fuk the parents, fuk everything...I'm gonna go have fun.

Like I said..you're a miserable little self-centered punk-[Bleeeeep!] kid.

You two should get a room already. Blue- do want you feel in your heart is right. Your bro and his life adventure can wait. Besides let him iron out all the wrinkles so you can go relax in a place that is ready. Jumping into a firestorm is no way to relax. Time is just that. You may have a lot or you may not. What will fulfill you can only be answered by you and the man upstairs.

I've had fat women, skinny women, tall women, short women, Asian women, black women, Mexican women, Vietnamese women, Spanish women, Icelandic women, Puerto Rican women, English women, Scottish women and women in 34 of the 57 ( wink ) states.

You've had one woman and she likes to show off her butt to thousands of guys on a fishing board.

Congrats?

There's something really wrong with you Aboob. I would pay $$$ to watch Hank stomp you out.

Gee, thanks. Way back in the day, when I was well versed in house painting, I wouldn't have hired you to clean my brushes.

Not true. Don't take for granted the time you get with any of your family, because you have no idea which one of them may not be with you tomorrow.

There's no right answer to this question, other than doing what will sit right with you, bwp. Don't go take take trip if all you're going to do is fester about how your folks are doing back home. By the same token, don't sit at home festering about not going to spend a little time with your bro.

Bottom line - you know what's right, we don't. Carry on.

BTW - if anyone needs a tissue, just ask.

dont ask yourself how it happened... ask yourself, how your going to fix it... your life is what you make of it, sh!t gets hard sometimes, getting past it is what matters... nothing else... life will always throw you curves, being able to see them, and hit them out of the park is what to aim for....

you cant replace family... no matter what.. so tell them you love them, and cherish every moment you have with them... because they wont be there someday...

and in saying that, i have some people to call myself...

good luck BWP, you will make it as far as you want to go...
