Lack of sun....too much rain. ..not cold but also not hot. Here is what we got, corn knee high by the 4th of July if you are a toddler. Many tomatoe plants unable to bare fruit...well they do have little green tomatoes. Peppers wilting, 2 broccolli, tiny but there. Apples, cherrys, plums all working on it. Strawberries gone crazy pick 40 a day & they keep on a coming. Swore I wouldn't plant onions again because of the smell but found the smell also repels pest so they are planted as pest control. That's about it...bring on the sun!

Wondered why a thread like this hadn't come up yet this year...

I'll snap some pictures this afternoon. Cold stuff doing great, hot weather stuff not doing much...

No garden again this year for me. If I can't 'till and plant by June 1, it's a waste of time and energy. Way too wet again (two years running). Great for slugs tho! I need to get some more ducks to feast on them.

We didnt plant much this year ( usually only have a small garden with greens, tomatoes, and zucchini) but the strawberries I co-grow with my neighbor and my raspberries are abundant...set to be a week to two late as well..

On another note, I'll take the weather we have been having all day compared to everything the rest of the country has been dealing with.

Ok...

Beans... not doing too much..

Peas! yikes, are they supposed to be over 5' high?

Raspberries are loaded

Mater's... cold and stunted
(So is the row of Basil in front)

The layout:
Back - Pole Beans
Then garlic, walla walla onions and peas
Then broccoli and green bunching onions doing great
Carrots, beets, (boxes) Zuch., cucs, artichokes
Peppers (sad), (boxes) yellow squash, lemon cucs
Foreground - pumpkins, dahlias, far right pickling cucs

Squash and Zuchs are doing great

Flowers in the yard are going strong

Window boxes are out of control...

It was a good year to grow Christmas trees (mole killer for scale)

Yard is nice and green

Maybe it will be warm enough for this soon...

Looks good, Twitch.
Things are stunted up here.
Sometimes June can be a cold, rainy beotch.

Within a few days everything will take off, including summer runs.
It's just how it is (sometimes).

Awesome Twitch! Wish I had that set up, really like the tree too. Glad to hear strawberries & other berries are doing good for most. Friend about a 1/4 mile away is struggling w/strawberries this year & I was like - REALLY! Pick them every night when I come home, slice um up, put them in tupperware, add a little sugar, they are endless. Think if I serve the kids another strawberry shortcake they just might barf. Strawberries galore. Goal of this year - no bounty goes unused in our house.

Man Twitch, I love that place.

My snap peas are amazing ... been plucking 10-20 a day lately.

Tomatoes ... have 7 that are about an inch big.

Beans - some good, most only 2"

Peppers - plant has 20 on it and only 3 are looking to be wanting to grow.

Strawberry plants - were doing amazing, picked 15 off them the other day until the @#$#^%%$@ blue jays decided to nest up and eat the living crap out of them.

Now in the garbage.

Would that be the berries, or the jays? smile

Spinach has bolted but got a few meals in the week it was ready. One spindly tomato has grown about a foot in the last week and has blooms so there is hope depending on September. Snap peas are about seven feet tall. My three year old daughter has found and eaten every pod below the three foot level, so the harvest is not great but I still get plenty from the upper levels. Been gone too much this summer to plant more or tend really what I have which is a good thing.

Tomatoes = hurting but finally probably maybe starting to improve.

Peas, broccoli strawberries, romain, potatoes, onions, shallots, arugula, radishes raspberries = excellent

Garlic mostly rotted = YIKES/WTF?

Currants, blueberries, kiwis = good but just getting fully established this year.

Cucumbers all died and had to start over but now doing OK

Slug and snail harvest has been excellent.

I don't do gardens but I did build some raised planter boxes for a friend. In return, she's brought oodles of spinach, lettuce (a million varieties), kale, and some artichokes. More stuff will filter in as the season progresses.

Stam does gardens. He's my gardening hero! thumbs

Twitch is right up there! Good work! thumbs

Wifey is going to school at night. I skipped gardening all together and got a CSA share. It's worked out pretty food.

Instead of gardening I have 25 or so gallons of beer in the basement. I'd much rather brew than weed a garden.

I have never seen so many.
