Big night (sorta, kinda) for the Niners. Randy Moss makes his Niner debut against the team that drafted him. Singletary comes back to the 'stick for a group-hug and see a HC that knows how to get the most out of his players.

I'm postponing my departure to Eureka to watch it..I know all of you Fawksfans will be tuned in too.

No bad for a "debut" ...

Niners did O.K. 1st string offense was better than the defense/secondary. They got a TD in the redzone instead of a FG. Kyle Williams didn't muff any punts. Brandon Jacobs ran over people in short yardage situations. Kaepernick had a 78 yd TD run. They have good depth at OLB.

They were playing the Yikes without Peterson and it's pre-season so BFD...right?

Correct.

Waste of time really......

Why Terrell Owens' Seahawks tenure could end soon

Last week we saw Terrell Owens make a memorable debut with the Seattle Seahawks, but for all the wrong reasons.

Owens, in his first NFL action since December 2010, was targeted five times by quarterback Matt Flynn, and all five passes went incomplete. The worst part of Owens' night happened when Flynn threw a beautiful deep ball that would've resulted in a 48-yard touchdown, except that Owens dropped it in the end zone.

Obviously, it wasn't a good night for a 38-year-old receiver trying to prove he's still got what it takes to play in the NFL.

And now comes this observation from Seahawks beat writer Eric Williams of the Tacoma News Trubune: "He has a lot to overcome. And the fact that he finished without a catch and a bad drop against Denver is just scratching the surface. He still appears to be the same T.O. who complains when things are not going his way. And Pete Carroll will not put up with that from a fifth or sixth receiver -- see T.J. Houshmandzadeh."

No specifics as to how Owens "appears to be the same T.O.," but how much of a surprise could this really be?

Meanwhile, Williams offered this take on Braylon Edwards: "Every day during practice Edwards makes at least one eye-opening play. Right now, Edwards is the most consistent of the big receivers who can make explosive plays down the field. I find it hard to believe he will not be on Seattle's roster when the season begins."

This spells disaster for T.O. But who knows? Maybe he'll wow Carroll on Friday night against the Kansas City Chiefs and turn everything around.

For T.O.'s sake, he'd better find a way.

"He still appears to be the same T.O. who complains when things are not going his way."

Why does this not surprise me?

The Seahawks look pretty solid, Hank. Other than their uniforms, which are a disgrace, I see some good things going on.

Your 49'ers are going to need to bring it.

The Hawks game was such a blowout that it lost my interest by the 4th Q. Bring on the season!!

Funny you should mention that. Believe it or not, ESPN has a "Uni Watch Power Ranking" of all uniforms in all sports. Broken down by NFL teams, the Fawks are rated #27 in esthetics.

"Nike's signature design for the 2012 NFL season is great if you think sports is about superheroes wearing costumes, but not so great if you're into athletes wearing uniforms. Truth to tell, the white jersey and pants aren't so awful, but the blue set has way too much of that Day-Glo green tone (here at Uni Watch HQ, we call it neon snot). Meanwhile, the only real difference between the gray alternate and the white-on-white uni is that the gray one looks like it needs laundering."

My beloved Niners are in the upper 25% at a respectable #8.

"Wouldn't it be great to have been in the room when they decided how to design the 49ers' sleeve stripes? "We don't really have room for three full stripes," someone must have said, "so let's just use partial stripes!" And then they presumably went back to whatever they were smoking. Aside from that, though, the Niners look very, very good these days."

i very very rarely ever even succumb to this thought, regardless of who i know thats saying it, or who its about....

but im seriously starting to lean towards that Wilson is the future of the Hawks... he just never stops, every time he touches the ball its game time... what an incredible performance last night, preseason or not...

Wilson should start, shop Flynn, and keep Jackson as the backup, hes well versed in our offense and tough as nails... plus hes less than half the price of Flynn... personally i think Flynn is another Whitehurst....

dump flynn and whitehurst, there are better backup qb's out there.

Flynn is guaranteed $10 mil..T-Joke has a $4 million non-guaranteed base salary.

You are not going to be able to shop Flynn with a $10 mil guarantee. No team is going to want him with that contract when he couldn't beat out a rookie.

Good point on Flynn, totally forgot the hawks mortgaged way too much on him.
