LOL.....and the year following will be a push-button auto-retreive.

2-speed will probably cross someone's mind.

The higher gear is nice for a fish running at you, but the trade-off for that is less cranking power for a fish that isn't.

I agree Hankster, plus over 50 years I can count on one hand the fish that won a run right at me. If the fish is smart enough to pull that trick, then maybe they deserve to win!

I always get a kick out of that "cranking power" thing. That's what the rod is for .......... at least that is what I told number 2 son after he had broken off both the reel paddles on one of my reels while "hauling in" a halibut and I had to cut the line..... some people's kids..... crazy smile
